From the first time I saw and ovation i thought it was the most beautiful guitar I'd ever seen, when I decided i wanted to learn to play I said to myself "I know I will never be a great guitarist but I can own the best looking guitar ever made, and it will look great in the corner of my living room." What a suprise I also got one of the best sounding guitars ever made.
Thanks Charlie... you will be missed by all who ever played one of your creations.

Bill:

My condolences to oyu and your family. I'm one of the new guys here but I remember reading the fisrt articles in Guitar Player and Frets Magazins about your dad the that "NEW FANGLED" roundback plastic guitar. I thought he was a genius at the time and he only got better.....

He will be missed

Our condolences to the entire family. I was thinking about the legacy of engineering, music, and humanitarian endeavors this man leaves behind. He will continue to be a part of so many of our lives for many many years to come. I wonder if he ever realized the impact he had on so many, or was he just doing what he knew how to do? In any case... he will be missed.

I just got home from an open mike and I took the OFC Ding-O. Did a little tribute in his memory. The entire club raised their glasses in honor of Charlie and toasted him. It was an awesome moment.
