I have for a long time wanted an Ovation, Adrian Legg just blew me away, technically and tone wise, damn I love that Ovation sound! So years pass and I finally buy a 2nd hand Applause AE127. God that guitar was fine, we had some great times, me and it and fell back in love with the guitar and playing fingerstyle. Then I figured I ought to treat myself to a better Ovation. Little did I know... I bought an Elite Special. A great guitar, has it's own voice and we had fun. But still I wondered... Then (thanks Patch) I ended up with the 84C, "more Elite Special" he said, well he was kinda right. It's much more but different. I'm having to adjust my playing technique to suit, it just behaves/sings a different way. It needs a lighter, more delicate touch etc. WOW! Then on a recent trip to the US I sort fo accidentally bought an LX. At first I found it sort of hard to get used (and thankfully) have not really got into it (so to speak). So the next step from shallow bowl to mid bowl was where could this go? And here I am with a 1537. I really do hope thats the end of my journey.

Once I got the 1537, the escalator went straight down (or up, depending on your viewpoint). I thought it would stop with the OFC guitar, but that was about a year ago and I'm still riding.

Had the 84C / LX for too short a time to really measure their effect. Having said that I can already feel that the 84C is something 'special'. A session in the garden, playing through all my current tunes, with the LX really warmed me to it but I really don't want to get to happy with it as it has to go to fund the 5137. So the plan is to just be with the 84C and 5137, the other two have to go to the 'bay. Though the Elite Special is kind of cool... And the LX, hmm... Damn it, my *BELOVED* Taylor - boo hoo hoo

Now if I didn't have the warm feeling from the members here at OFC telling me how trustworthy he is I would be starting to sweat. How the hell does one contact him?
