welcome to the exclusive 1537 club, dweeze! you paid a very fair price and knowing the quality of the gentleman you bought it from and the condition of the guitars he sells, you will be a very happy camper. i do recommend not taking a 1537 on camping trips though.

Now I seriously think it's time for a cull.

The Ibanez JS Y2Ks future in my collection is looking short lived.

As is the Elite Special, and even the LX.

How did this happen to me?

I have for a long time wanted an Ovation, Adrian Legg just blew me away, technically and tone wise, damn I love that Ovation sound!

So years pass and I finally buy a 2nd hand Applause AE127. God that guitar was fine, we had some great times, me and it and fell back in love with the guitar and playing fingerstyle.

Then I figured I ought to treat myself to a better Ovation. Little did I know...

I bought an Elite Special. A great guitar, has it's own voice and we had fun. But still I wondered...

Then (thanks Patch) I ended up with the 84C, "more Elite Special" he said, well he was kinda right. It's much more but different. I'm having to adjust my playing technique to suit, it just behaves/sings a different way. It needs a lighter, more delicate touch etc. WOW!

Then on a recent trip to the US I sort fo accidentally bought an LX. At first I found it sort of hard to get used (and thankfully) have not really got into it (so to speak).

So the next step from shallow bowl to mid bowl was where could this go?

And here I am with a 1537.

I really do hope thats the end of my journey.

Seriously, you will enjoy that one. I regret selling mine to Gway, but I know it has a good home.

The 1537 was about the third step on mine. The other 2 were long steps, almost 30 years apart. Once I got the 1537, the escalator went straight down (or up, depending on your viewpoint). I thought it would stop with the OFC guitar, but that was about a year ago and I'm still riding.

Peer pressure is a great social experiment to watch. Glad we could help you spend your money, dweezil. It's payback for all the people that helped the rest of us spend ours.

I am a better musician/guitar player because of the AE127 --> Elite Special without a single doubt.

Had the 84C / LX for too short a time to really measure their effect. Having said that I can already feel that the 84C is something 'special'. A session in the garden, playing through all my current tunes, with the LX really warmed me to it but I really don't want to get to happy with it as it has to go to fund the 5137.

So the plan is to just be with the 84C and 5137, the other two have to go to the 'bay.

Though the Elite Special is kind of cool...

And the LX, hmm...

Damn it, my *BELOVED* Taylor - boo hoo hoo

Congrats, Dweezil. You've just graduated to the next level.

Just let the Taylor go. You'll be better off for it.

Didn't even look at the sellers name. Dweezil, you have no worries. Mike is a class act when it comes to guitars, buying or selling.

Unresponsive you say?

Well I have sent two Ebay messages and an email asking about shipping etc prior to paying and *NOTHING*

Hmm! Now if I didn't have the warm feeling from the members here at OFC telling me how trustworthy he is I would be starting to sweat.

How the hell does one contact him?
