I had settled on a W597 that I loved the feel and sound of. Everyone here sold me on the 1537, which I got from fellow OFCer Jeff W. It blows away the W597! Definitely keep it! The 1537 has quite a following here.

I bought it about 6 years ago for $300 and left it in the case for 3 years because I didn't know how to play. I've started learning a little and am now teaching kids at Church basic guitar. I'm amazed that this thing never ever goes out of tune compared to the other guitars in the class. Thanks for the info. I think you are right about keeping it.

Honestly, keep it, play it, love it!

Good thing too as I am sure I would have gotten my $450 pretty easily, then went out and bought the Adamas I was looking at for 3 times as much and been sick. As it is now, I am sure a couple of these guys would trade an Adamas for a nice 1537. P.S. Use mine for worship at my church too... Jeff Davis Hermiston, OR (a.k.a. Joined: April 2005 Posts: 76 Location: Chapin SC | I wasn't looking to sell, but it's the only guitar I've ever played and didn't realize the value both in quality and monetary. I only play in church too. Probably because parishiners are more forgiving than most of the public. But that may change as I continue to play. I've been enjoying reading a lot of the banter in this site. I haven't done anything like this in a few years since I stopped going to the Miatanet site. There is a good topic. what's the smallest car you can stick the ovation hardshell case into. sl
