Even had the paint worn off around the back hatch. The market seems to have softened considerably or all us suckers already got one. Too bad you don't have a SWMBO to explain that to. Seriously, that looks like a wonderful guitar and I bet the paint on the back is an easy fix if it bothers you.

Do these have a slightly thicker neck than most of the newer models. I think my S771 is slightly thicker than most and I have found that I really like it.

But this guitar is almost pristine. I got back about 15 minutes ago so I haven't had much time with it yet. This guy didn't know what he had. I think it might still have the original strings on it. There is virtually no fret wear on it and when I first picked it up the first thing I noticed was the dust on the tuning key knobs. This guy hadn't even tried to tune it. I strummed it and it was amazingly very very close to being in tune, with only the A and D strings slightly off. The only blemish, besides the paint on the back is a little bit of flat white paint on the edge of the very top of the headstock and most of that came off with one light scratch of my fingernail. I haven't tried plugging it in yet, so we'll see about the electronics later, but even with brown strings it sounds great. Congrats Rick...nice job...I'm glad we didn't end up driving the price up for the winner...I was already over my head anyway. Peace and congrats! Norse(all in God's timing)man1 I don't know why the paint is flaking off of the back, but other than that you can't find a more pristine guitar on the floors of most guitar stores. I really do feel kind of bad. But not bad enough to part with it! All I can say is you definitely have the right of first refusal and a special deal if I ever decide to sell it. I will post more about it when I've had a chance to check it out fully and change strings.
