if you can research all the legal ramifications and contact an attorney that specializes in internet auctions that can verify that Myself or Miles would not be held liable for any misrepresentations or inproprities (don't think I spelled that right) I would be more than happy to appoint you in charge or developing an on line auction section for our site. In fact, if it works it may generate income for the site.
thanks

Hey Al....

Repeat after me:
This is only a venue.
This is only a venue.

:)

As far as you being liable for some kind of misrepresentations, etc... you're already on the hook the same for having a "for sale" section. I don't think the manner in which the final price is determined sways your level of responsibility.

Just add a line to your TOS's that clearly identifies that you're not responsible for the content here.

You're only a venue. :)

I also formerly belonged to a fiberglass travel trailer forum (I owned and sold a really cool 1969 unit)... anyway... I bought the unit from another member there originally and I also used that forum to sell it 2 years later.

That forum was a great place to sell a unit - and it was on an honor system of sorts to send the forum owner $20 after a sale. I know I sent him a check - I was grateful for how fast I sold my trailer.

Don't know why something like that wouldn't work out for you here as well if it's something that you're interested in doing ....

Sally, You've GOT to stop! I can't get this vision out of my head - you sitting there playing your Ovation in a fiberglass travel trailer, surrounded by twisted balloon animals. Oh the pain ...

Personal opinion - auctions on the OFC site will draw many people only interested in unloading a guitar or making a buck. These are not FANS. and FAN is a critical part of our club name.

LOL....

Add the weiner dogs (I own two - but babysat 2 more last weekend - it was a swarm of weenies running around here for 4 days) ... then add knitting, painting, beadwork .... and I bake a mean carmel roll.

Was gonna buy a scooter with a sidecar this summer - thought the grandbaby would love it - but it's looking like it's getting bumped back a year to make room in the budget for a 47RI.

Life is never dull....

You're really gonna go nuts when you eventually find out what I do for work.

It's hard being the funnest grandma on the planet.

LOL

yes we are a venue that uses a trade name and trademark with permission.

when you get all the information to me I can review it and then see if it is something we can add

Don't ask me, but if you get sued in Idaho, I'd be happy to defend you.

I always thought he was in the End Zone. That's why the Giants never scored much. didn't want to step on his grave I guess.

My personal opinion. No Auctions.

Go to the sell/Trade section

Price it.
Post it.
Sell it.

If no one buys it, head for ebay.

I haven't been that active lately and it would take an evening to read all the threads I've missed...
I just assumed that your business was common knowledge and the guys were minding themselves and their manners.

I agree. :) If someone really wants the item, it will sell for a fair price here. If there is no demand, throw it to the dawgs. :D

I am working on purchase number 2 from an OFC member. I know I may be tipping the mushy-XX factor, but I really appreciate knowing that a guitar purchased here, arrives with some Love.

Now as far as the GAS problem here.... I have become very needy and sneaky since joining. I am blaming that, ALL on the XY influence. ;)

Noah,
No her profession has not been openly discussed. I will assume that all who attended the Denver jam listened when she mentioned her line of work.....Tony might know from conversations the two have shared.....but probably no one else.
