This is a guitar, that according to the FACTORY can not be built. It did, however, serve to show the true colors of Al and Miles, and that this board is NOT a fan club, it is the marketing arm of Al's little home business....

Hey Daylan ... you posted the message once (twice) already. Leave it at that. We get your point. Don't blow your credibility any further.

Daylan,

Not sure what the response to your multiple postings will be. It is appropriate to feel frustration over a long and difficult day.

For those reading this thread (and any others) - Miles had tried to resolve this off-board in an amiable and reasonable manner over a long period.

There is a response often used on the OFC...click!

I appologize, I deleted his 2nd post when I only meant to edit it to say that it was a crosspost.

You can still read it in its entirety elsewhere on the site.

Can I get mine with 14 frets, 1 7/8" nut, two knobber preamp, carverd headstock and heel, carbon fiber top in original "-8" please? :p :D :p :D

J/K Al. I'm just joking... put down the claw hammer... it was supposed to be funny... I didn't mean it...

Seriously, great job getting this together. We (the OFC) cannot seem to agree on many things, but I know allot of us will love this guitar and though it should've been the '06 Koallectors edition. Now, I'm glad it wasn't. Any behind the scenes effort you took as a means to this end are OK with me.

"The Phone Call"
ring... ring...
AL: "Hello? Hey Ricky. Yeah I got it. Well I dunno. Are you gonna make it? I think it sounds like $4it (Al holds the phone out and strums a banjo behind him). No,no. Go ahead with the other one, it'll be OK. No. It's OK, stop crying now. It'll be fine. You don't have to pick it up, I'll dispose of it."

Click (Al hangs up the phone, fading evil laugh)

:p :D :p :D

Al, what depth is the body? I see in the first post it is a contour bowl -- do they come in more than one depth (seeing as this is a custom order)

Just curious.
TIA

there is only one size contour bowl. it is between a deep and mid but has the same internal characteristics of a deep bowl.

I tried to order a custom 12 fret cutaway contour bowl and was told within the last 2 months by the factory it could not be done.

It appears they figured it out right after they told me no...

Also, I thought they said at the factory tour that they had used up all the Koa wood that they had. No more to be found. Whazzupwiddat?

This is giving me insane GAS...

I definitely wish I had the money for one of these...

It would go perfectly with the D-18 ;)

The best of both worlds...

Tom, I'm guessing and not trying to speak on behalf of the factory, but I "think" the issue with yours was that they could not do it with an adamas top. But they CAN do it with a wood LX type top. I mean, the proto EXISTS! So I would say that is proof positive that they can go it. I just phoned in my reservation.

Me too! I'm anticipating a very merry Christmas this year!

Damn, I feel like a little kid thumbing through the Sears toy catalog. I keep going back to the picture of this guitar. Al, can you post some more pic's? I think we need another fix.

BTW...what will the inlay on the fingerboard say?

That's what I'm thinking. Does anyone have a photo of how a UTE neck attaches to the body from the inside? Looking to see how a 12 fret Adamas attaches. Then I'll compare my contour 2006 and my Milllenium and make some inferences... you all know how well those turn out.
