Not too many guitars out there would have prompted me to sell this Adamas. But the Collings is something special. There's "premium" guitars like Martins and stuff that are definately the cream of the crop. And then there is this Collings that just takes it to another stratosphere. Ironically, the seller (who knows a little something about guitars) was about to put it on the block because the bought another brand of guitar, for LESS money, that he liked the sound better. He strummed them both for me and looked for that nod of approval. I nodded alright, and couldn't get the words "How much for the CW" out of my mouth fast enough. Dave

(shut up glenn! :D ) Heavenly angels in chorus fill the parlor with the first strum and they hang with me as i cannot put it down for the next three and a half hours. what an incredible instrument! what an incredibly blessed man i am to have such a wonderful wife. what an incredible "ass" i have been moping around the house since the day dave posted the sale was pending. what an incredibly generous and good friend dave has been in working behind the scenes with my wife to make this happen. dave, please sense the warmth of my gratitude. i discovered something else this evening: the reason behind my wife's less than agreeable attitude about me buying the takamine EF75. i plead innocent! i had no clue that i was about to experience the largest surprise of my existence. and then, if that ain't amazing enough...she tells me i can still get the tak if i want to. my elite 1537 is sold at my asking price leaving me without a nice acoustic 6 stringer. if God opens the door, and He has, i should walk through it, and i will. what a day! thanks for taking a few moments to share in my joy.

My wife and friends have done similar things so I know how you feel! Now you've got to play and record something and put it on youtube.

Randy, I'm thrilled for you and I'm so happy the guitar has not only stayed in the OFC, but has made it's way into your hands. When you told me that the guitar was so appealing to you because the tan and blue colors reminded you of the sands and skies of Hawaii, it almost brought tears to my eyes to have to inform you that it was sold (technically I was not telling a lie). Congratulations my friend. Now, on to that Tak75. Your statement about God opening the door and you should walk through it? Nope, you need to RUN through it !!! Happy Easter, Dave

Dave mahalo, friends, for all the kind sentiments posted so far on this thread this morning. i was not dreaming as i had suspected. i woke up and the 12 string is still here at the foot of the bed all snug in its case. my wife did draw the line on where she would allow it to sleep!
