Bearclaw Spruce sounds better because it is prettier!

Oddball... This is all "Personal Opinion" but... I noticed the same thing about both my Contour bowls. They are weird for me to play. I also believe that they sound different because I Hold them different. With the top pointing dead-away from me, whereas I tilt my regular bowls more up towards my face...

In a side-by-side comparison, the texture-top T's sound better than my Orange Flame T. Even comparing my regular 1778T-5 to the 1778T-OF... Same strings and everything. And I believe that is cuz of the top paint.

On a side-note, my S771 with the satin finish (and therefore No Paint!) sounds awesome!

Karen,

Send Al an email - he tends not to read his PMs.

Just wondering what an FRG really means, I know it's factory reconditioned but I've heard they are more like 'seconds' minor flaws. Is this right?

Typically what are the minor flaws?

keith I absolutely did e mail you back. I checked. I send you another e mail I hope you get that one.

the 4 guitars I have seen so far have been perfect.

a flaw would constitute a "2nd"
technically an frg has been repaired to factory spec but the line is blurred on this with whomever you speak caveat emptor.

Al, do I understand that they will be shipped direct from the factory? I will be in your neck of the woods in 10 days or so and could take delivery from you if it would save on shipping.

That price is giving me severe GAS pains!

I just wanted to say that I did get mine, and I am very happy. I'll do a full detail later on, but all I've got to say is that if you're looking for a great looking guitar that sounds like it should, with all the best bits Ovation has in the mix today, then this guitar is for you. And the price is right. Hurry before the deal goes away.

Ditto on stonebobbo's comments. The intonation is the best I've heard on any acoustic, the sound is tremendous, and the workmanship is outstanding. A great guitar for twice the price!

Mine is due tomorrow and I can't wait. I've been tracking it all the way to OH. I really need (want) a cutaway since I've started working on lead licks. Looks like I'll be selling my 1537 soon.

i like mine more and more all the time. it is currently in the rotation as the fave. it's been making the roadtrips with me and getting played a lot. these are the last pre-fender Ovation Collectors and they have all the right bits that make them special. Killer guitar for the money.
