One day to go and still winning.

As stated before I like SSBs. My Elite Special is up for sale on Ebay for the simple reason that I'm running out of room and with the collectors it's just not going to get played.

Now this 5868 might not sound as good as some of my other guitars but I will probably just use it (dare I say it) as knock about practise guitar. Something I can grab and lie on the sofa.

So it's laminated so what. I'll hang it on the wall in my front room and enjoy it's looks when it's not being played.

". . Technically, all Adamii are panels . ."

And Technically, Charlize Theron and Rosie O'Donnell are both "Women", but GUESS which one I'd "take around the block" . .
(unless of course, there was a dog-leash involved)

It's a little unfair to compare the 5868 to an Adamas.

I stil lthink it looks lovely and I reckon will be nicer than my Elite Special.

NO! go for it. Yeah it's a panel-master, so what? They still sound good and the Adamas is a pa-nell too of sorts

Actually to be that pretty and still be thin enough to make a workable top it has to be laminated.
Go fo it!

As I say, I find SSBs really nice little guitars to pick and play, very comfy and easy. It can on;y help its a looker.

If I want TONE then out comes the 1537 or other Collectors.

Are you kidding!

If I hadn't just written a check to the mothership, I would be your toughest competition. But don't worry, I'll get one eventually. ;)

The label on these guitars say "5868" but they are not listed on the Ovation site as such, I think they are listed as Old Walnut N868.

Are these the same?

Although when there is N as the start of the model number it usually was made for Nakao, the Japaneese distributor. Sometimes they were custom, sometimes just tweaked a little from normal production.

I was just wondering. Still looks lovely and will compliment the 84C well.

Into the last 10 hours.

ARSE! Seller wants to retract the sale as I don't live in the US!!?!?!?

So would anyone be willing to receive my 5868 and ship on to me via USPS to the UK? I'll pay shipping. Ta.
