Al, does it still come with the lifetime warranty?Although one of the 12 LAV Koas was resold, this is the first resale of an OFC as far as we know.

Since I am a dealer and this guitar has never been sold. It can come with the warranty. FYI I have one confirmed firm offer. (I must have asked too low) Although that individual will need time to get the cash together. for now the guitar will rest with me. I am now getting cold feet about selling it. For me this guitar represents many things. The achievement of the OFC, the friendships of many of the members that I have made and the relationship that I hold with the guys in the Factory and some in Bloomfield. That said there is also the downside, It represents the frustration of getting these approved and finally finished, the ridicule I got from some board members, and most importantly the frustration, heartship, threat of lawsuit etc, posed by certain former board member. Sometimes just looking at this guitar makes me relive a period of my life that I am not so fond of reliving. the guitar itself is as close to perfect as I could imagine. I remember the day I got it and I ripped open the box and stummed the first chord. I knew that the factory "got it right". That was very exciting for me. But in practicality, I need a cutaway and the on board tuner to use it in performace and I just have to much inventory. I am thinking of taking one of my 08 collector's and having it retro fit with the al dimeola boost preamp. If I can convince them to put the adamas I overleaf on the headstock then it would be perfect LOL For now, the ofc 1/12 guitar is off the table.

Personally I would make a gentlemans agreement that whomever buy's this guitar has to at the very least offer it back to you first if the day comes that they need or want to sell it again. I'd also like to mention I fell this OFC guitar like the Koa's are the most interesting and increadible guitars anyone has ever taken the time to have made. Your efforts in these projects and the amazing guitars produced should never be a bad memory for you. FACT If I was a wealthy man I would own one of them all. By the way the headstock on the 08 would be the cats ass if it were carved!

I never thought that I would get a chance at one and my playing abilities didn't really fit the guitar. When they weren't snapped up immediately, and after some prompting by some of you, I went back and read all the stuff in the archives about the OFC guitar. I can appreciate what Al just said. My first conversation ever with him was when I placed the order on my birthday. Like many of you on this board, Al is just a great guy to know. And Al, if you had a nickel for every time I'd been threatened with a lawsuit, you'd be a rich man. Unfortunately, that seems to be the American way anymore.

Joined: March 2005 Posts: 12759 Location: Boise, Idaho | Except that Dave proved my suspicions correct. I was sitting in Boise eating at a sidewalk restaurant and there goes Dave walking by. I don't need to go to Phoenix if he would just bring his guitars here when he comes. Of course, I have to assume that if I see him on this chance encounter, he's probably been here a bunch of other times and didn't let me know. All that's really beside the point. I just never play 12 strings, so there's no point in playing one that I'm never going to use. The 08C is a different story. I'll check on my first free weekend and see if a trip to Hermiston can be arranged. I'll be at Wallowa Lake in a couple of weeks. Is that close enough?

I still have a couple of koa guitars that were spoken for when I ordered them and never picked up. anything I do in the future would have to be done with payment up front sorry to say people's word is just not good enough anymore
