But you never see a listing that refers to "typical gibson need for a neck reset" or the "typical unplayable taylor neck", and not to mention "typical Breedlove intonation problems" and last but not least the "typical guild pop off bridge". Sheesh ... Look in the bright side, at least he didn't say the back and side were made out of plastic. Toby

The tone was probably a touch better to my ear than my 1537, though I think the 1537 neck feels better to me. Too bad it cost $3000. Hell for that I'd rather have a sweet ass Adamas. Or half that and a nice GXi from CA, or even an Ovation 2774LX. But then value for the money is a big factor for me. For some it's not.

I'm kinda new around here...well, actually I am and I'm not, since I joined back around 2003 or so, but other hobbies pulled me away for years...anyway, Jim, she is an awesomely nice guitar, and she far exceeds what I had hoped for. I gave her a fretboard oiling, multiple coats of polish, new strings, and just so slightly loosened the truss rod to give her just a touch of relief, and WOW - all I can say is WOW. Jim, thank you!

It is a great sounding guitar and in nice shape. I'd put it right up with the 1537, which, attention everyone, is still for sale. Personally, I think Taylors are pretty well made, have a pretty nice tone going on and have a great feel. Insanely over-priced but, sure, they're ok guitars. Bottom line - if I could throw out $3k on a git, it just wouldn't be a Taylor. But I'm not going to slam them either - they built a brand that few can match so good on them. Almost every Larivee, Lowden, and Breedlove (talking production line guitars, not boutique guitars like Santa Cruz or Collings) that I've picked up have made me stop and take notice. But Taylors don't do that for me. A guy who plays with us at church plays a 314 Taylor and loves it. Last night we were rehearsing unplugged, and compared to my GC RI, to my ear, his guitar lacked cajones. It sounded thin. But again, he loved it. It's all ice cream. Different flavors for different folks. And some people are lucky and have more than one flavor in their refridgerator. If I could, I would. But to me, Taylors are like rocky road. I just don't care for it......
