Iffy's bringing his 1680 to G8Bowl, now if Beggin' brings his UTE we can compare directly.

If it helps the 1680 looks nicer ;)

And the walnut/ebony neck is rather awesome.

I keep hearing how superior this model is yet nobody had jumped on it and bid yet.

At that price it is a no brainer....

the reason I mention it is because "IF" I was interested, I would have already contacted the seller and reasoned with him that since no one had bid on it, it might go unsold.....so I would do him a favor and negotiate an offline price and buy it.

Suddenly the auction shows that the item is no longer available for sale..........

Then I would sit back and listen to the gnashing of teeth of all the clever bidders who were gonna wait until the last possible moment to show their interest. That's why when I have a true interest in buying a piece on ebay, I will always throw in a token bid just so that the seller knows there is interest in his item.

I know it works.....Noah and I have done it many times.

You mean I'm not the only one who does stuff like that?! I'm shocked and dismayed!

I know this is shallow but I'd love to have this guitar but know I can't afford it. So I placed a bid on Ebay just so I could "winning", if only for a little bit of time. So for right now, I'm Top Dog for this guitar! Probably the closest I'll ever get to one of these beauties.

Yes it is shallow:) And it's causing my bids to go up. But I'm about capped out now.

Sorry bout that Shughes. My brief sniff of 1680 ownership only lasted about a half hour. I'm toast.

Still way on the cheap side. If this doesn't go for at least 1600.00, you will know THE END is near.

Well it is at least 2nd hand and an older model 1680 so it wouldn't freak me out if it went for that.

Of course how the hell do you get inside the 1680 if you need to work on anything?

Through the preamp hole. Once you remove the can, all you need to find is someone with small hands.

Righto - man that's a great guitar!

I seem to switch between the 07C and 1680 these days. A great combo.

I try to rotate through all of mine at least once a week. Music and I came to a mutual agreement that we both missed our guitars, so the Viper is going back his way and the 1681 is coming back to Fl to bask in the sun. I guess it will find it's way back in the rotation soon.

Well, for me it's come down to a matter of sheer economics...and quality over quantity. I'm putting almost 5K into my custom (which is due by the end of this month), and after some losses I've had to cut back from my high point of 14 acoustics to just 2, plus 2 electrics, a mando, a traveler, and a uke.

The 1680 and 08C are by far my favorite Adamas models ever, and if life's situations were at all different I would SO be pulling the trigger on this one. And NOT for a "rotation"...maybe. :D

Well, it went for the bargain price of 1346.27. Probably shouldn't have had it end during the playoffs... Anybody here get it?
