See if he thinks that box of his compares to that one. Took out a loan for it but never practiced with it..... just cracks me up. Since when were guitars not meant to be played?!?!? The "flagship" of his collection that he never hardly used. Yeah... makes a whooooole lotta sense.

Joined: September 2005 Posts: 3619 Location: GATLINBURG TENNESSEE :) | Ican't believe this guy! Here's his response when I asked him what the used value on the guitar was ... (he answered my email right away with this ...) "It all depends on the condition of the guitar. A typical Ovation like this in average condition after 30 years might bring as little as 1,500., on the other hand, an Ovation like this one in Like New condition can range as high as 3-4 grand. Its always a subjective value according to the collector, the supply & the demand." What a Loser!!!

I guess it was just a humorous idea to take a little frustration out on this guy instead of a few customers that are making me crazy today over really petty stuff. I'll behave now.

I think we should report him to Ebay for gross stupidity.

Maybe just a little "Word in someone's ear" (with a link to this thread?) would convince them to boot this vendor.....

It would be sad if anybody fell for this type of tactic -- but "there's a sucker born every day" and plenty of sharks to eat them -- just the way it is. Just my opinion, but i just shake my head and move on. Why waste any time on it? _____ gh1

As far as eBay being a "reputable" business... I'd like to know exactly what the definition of "reputable" is. If it means "big" - Yes. Otherwise, I think eBay has got to be about as evil of a business (or more so!) as most pawn shops. JMO

I've only ever bought stuff from pawnshops, never pawned. Might make a difference of opinion. ....................................... Same is money itself is neither good nor bad, though either can be done with it.

I think $30,000 for an old Fender or Gibson is ridiculous. What Antiques Road show....yikes the price people are willing to pay for...Junk. Or my buddy who bought a 69 Z-28 for over $30K. I am like, man you could have bought a relatively new Vette for that much money. If the guy sells it, more power to him. If he doesn't, he can always console himself that he still owns his $2500, $400 guitar. Ebay is all about the ridiculous sometimes...

I had asked him about the $300 case and this was his response: "This is a Custom made case from the Ovation Factory for that Classical Electric Ovation Guitar." Maybe an offer of $500 will take guitar and case home.
