OK, I'll apologize for the comment about my wife, since it's not really true anyway, if you guys will apologize for all those comments about lawyers. I'm really sensitive about those.

See, that's the problem with typing. When I wrote the above paragraph it was dripping with sarcasm, but when I read it, the sarcasm doesn't show. And it doesn't work if everyone gets it the first time. We probably should be more careful about what we write.

NOoooooo!!

Then they have won! This is a free and public forum. Speak your mind (within reason). I actually find a bit of the humor here amusing. If you dont like something, click the back button and go to a different thread. Isnt that really the point of the internet?

Sorry if I appeared to get my nose out of joint. I really do not think I was crossing any lines.

Bottom line has been said many times before.

If you see something that offends you or that you dislike, then just move along to something else.

I just got to thinking about how I'd feel if my daughters or other family members would read some of the stuff I wrote. Thank God my Mother is computer illiterate or she'd have a heart attack if she read my stuff.
I thought about deleting the comment I made about my wife (even though I thought it was clever) but once somebody quoted it, I figured it was hopeless. Sorry if I offended anyone. There are plenty of times that I intend to offend someone and I don't apologize for any of those intentionally offensive remarks.

Has it occurred to you that, by considering this, 'they' may already have won.

Check with Ed M. to find out if 'they' are already a winner.

Mark, if you really feel guilty and want to delete your post, I will delete my quote.

No harm no foul no permanent record!

By the way, your care package should be arriving very very soon. Let me know what you think.

No, Stephen, most everything I say should be taken with a grain of salt. I did think about it for about 2 seconds. Now, I'm too lazy to go back. My Mother might actually think it was funny. She has to be partly responsible for my sense of humor, if you could call it that.

Somebody told me yesterday that a guy didn't speak English because he was Canadian. I assumed he only spoke French, but now I'm wondering if he just spoke "Canadian" hey.

That's "Canajun, eh!" and no... that's an example of 'Strine' or Aussie slang.

Will you bring a translator to the NW OFC gathering? Never mind. I really need to learn a foreign language.

"In Canada we have enough to do keeping up with two spoken languages without trying to invent slang, so we just go right ahead and use English for literature, Scotch for sermons and American for conversation." -- Stephen Leacock

BTW; It is a commonly held belief in the rest of the free world that in fact English IS a foriegn language to the Americans.

So true ... that makes great sense with my own personal experiences, given that I lived the first 1/2 of my life in a developing country, before coming to the U.S.

English is a foriegn laguage to Americans? OK, here's one for you. Last year a guy applied for a job here, and in his resume he says... and I quote..."Fluent in Contemporary Urban Vernacular" I kid you not, this guy could talk 'hood' and put it on a resume. LOL
