Round here the Temp only drops after his third bottle of Merlot.

Merlot!! In that heat....

Fookin' Sangriá, man.

This has been one of the most pleasant Spring/Summer I can remember here in the eastern mountains.

Unfortunately, I haven't been here to to enjoy it much.... high of 82 today...

A short round of golf last night at 102 degrees wasn't really too bad. I used to play soccer in that heat. Plenty of sunscreen and water and I was fine except for the short game. Playing on a course with lots of trees helps, since I'm usually in the woods anyway.

I'm almost at the end of a loooong UK tour with my buddy from Memphis, Tn. As an end of tour excuse to get drunk we had a bunch of people over to my house tonight. I cooked seafood enchiladas and we sat in the garden till gone midnight. The last time I recall eating outdoors was at Moody's place back in '03. That's how shit the weather usually is over here. Right now it feels like late January in Anaheim. Without the stress, obviously.

It's finally cooling down here in the Columbia Basin. They are predicting 99 to 101 today, so that is a nice change from this last week or so.

I have AC but not looking forward to the electric bill. Still....wouldn't be very nice without it.

Fortunately our humidity is rather low.

I work for a division of Carrier. In the last few years we've seen large purchases of AC units go to places in the north that historically had very short summers and milder temps. Regardless of one's take on global warming being man made or part of a natural cycle...things do seem to be heating up. At least it keeps my job going for a while...

There is a big difference between 110 and 120. In Avondale we had 120 the other day. Anything under 110 is easy to take. It all this global warming.

It was only 99 yesterday, so we didn't break our record of consecutive triple digit days. Other than that, I didn't notice any difference between 99 and 103. How would you notice the difference between 110 and 120 if you don't go outside? Someone told me that the Arizonans hibernate in the summer and if it's still over 100 in September they get grumpy.

It has cooled down (somewhat) here in the Island, but the humidity is what makes the weather still feel "yucky!" Anyway, I really can't complain, cos it's going to be temporary ... months from now, it'll be the extreme of winter and ppl. will start !$@*%$# about either the killer blizzards, or how terribly frigid the temps are.

As Robert Frost once said, "I can only sum up life in three words: it goes on."

Well...the deck is done.
However..Pam hates the color and I'm not real fond of it either.
It's a do-over today.

1.) Open can.

2.) Stir well.

3.) Paint one small board.

D.) When dry, ask the "theBoss" for her opinion.

We had a strong and un-shakable optimism that it would dry darker and everything would work out okay.

Slipkid,
I had the same thing happen last weekend. Except it was the living room ceiling. At first I was angry, but then I said, it's only time and money. And that made me feel depressed. But then I said this would be unlivable, like living in cave, which fit my mood. It reminded me of my friend who bought a place that had black painted ceilings, walls and floors. That made me laugh. So another day later, and a few bills lighter, the ceiling is now a cheerful "sunbeam yellow." These things happen.

I painted the kitchen last year for "the boss" and the color was just not growing on us like we had hoped. Lasted a week and it was of to the store for a new color! Things were much more to our liking after the second try :)

BTW: Does anyone know a rain dance, This heat and humidity is getting old  Tired of running the AC and having to water the garden! Can't wait to see the utility bills this month

We finally dipped below 100 after 9 straight days. Now it's down in the 80s and feels almost cold.
