When I asked a question of the Mothership (many years ago, before I'd heard of this place), they went far beyond what I'd asked for and told me stuff I didn't even know that I wanted to know. And sent me strings. You'll remember that I've recently had to shop for a new car. Not only did the Honda dealers treat me well, and tell me things I didn't even know that I wanted to know, but they let me take the car with only my promise that I'd bring the cheque in the following day. Bear in mind that they had never seen my driving licence at this point... The only thing missing was that they didn't give me guitar strings! ;) Honda - Take Something, Change Something, Make Something better. Ring any bells? Seemed to fit pretty well to me. JB

Price competative with everything in their field, last forever, (I expect to get 500,000 kliks out of this pickup, as the last I knew.) and have the full product line and a few inovations that never caught on. (Can you say 'Wankel rotary engine?)

Not cheap, but less expensive than a Ferrari, Lambo, or other exotics. Performance is as good as, if not better, than the others. Exhaust note, however, is unique. Porsches are nearly unbreakable ... the highest percentage of original cars still on the road are Porsches, by a substantial margin. Rust in the pans are like laquer cracks. Porsche owners are fanatical and have a unique bond with other Porsche owners. lady stonebobbo always comments that only Porsche owners give each other peace signs when seeing each other on the road. When you see a Porsche, you know it's a Porsche. No question. You can tweak colors and options, but there is never any doubt. Company started in aerospace Owned by a large American company. Stands on it own merrit in a very competitive world market. Personal prefrence overules value. Even though they're pretty, since they're not styled like eveyone else, they're considered ugly... SAAB. :D

Hey, I'm not bashing Saab. One of the first cars I owned was a Saab Sonnet. It was like a Soap Box Derby car with a small lawnmower engine. I can't believe I lived to tell about it. Dave

Porsche. Definitely Porsche. "There are people who actually despise Porsches, but we reckon they've never driven one." "We can't change the laws of physics, but we can try to move the limits..." - Anonymous Porsche engineer Dr. F. Porsche re-invented the sports car by hanging an air-cooled engine off of the back axle. Charlie Kaman re-invented the guitar by having a curved plastic back. Porsches have always been hich tech, just like Ovations. Every Porsche is instantly recognizable as a Porsche and nothing else. Same goes for Ovations. Porsches are high end vehicles, but if you want performance, reliability and handling, nothing comes really comes close for the price. I guess Ovations are high end guitars especially considering that you can get a basic guitar nowadays for $100. Nothing can match the performance of a new Ovation for the price. Compared to its more exotic competitors, Porsches are easier to use and maintain. Same goes for comparing an Ovation against its wood box competitors. Porsche has been constantly upgrading the original concept with newer and better engineering, particularly since the late 60's when the 911 was introduced. That sure sounds like what Ovation has been doing. Yup, Rob is right. Porsche it is!
