No kidding... why can't they design a dark label, grey on black or something, still readable but doesn't so totally detract from the looks? It makes a very classy looking guitar look cheap!

It is a very cool machine.

Not wanting to change the subject, and not wanting to stir up old subjects that don't belong in the public...

GregoryS was my dealer. It was not his fault. Emails document that the factory got the correct order, but got changed somewhere between the ordering and production. Greg was great. I was working with him back in late May/early June trying to get the contour bowl Adamas done, but couldn't. However, when he opened up the case and found out that the guitar was a 2080 instead of a UTE, he immediately jumped in his car and drove !250 miles! to bring the guitar to me to see. He left the guitar with me and has given it to me to keep until we can get a replacement or I decide to keep this one. Truly he has done everything to make this right. Highest props to Greg!

It was raining Horses and Rhinos this AM so I'll try to get some decent photos this afternoon.

OK, here are some better photos. MAN, the jpg compression schemes don't handle the textured top very well. Make sure when you click on these links that your browser doesn't automatically compress the images (firefox did).

WOW and WOW again....GREAT PHOTOS.

With the exception of that label, that is a mighty fine looking guitar!

and you say it sounds AMAZING to boot :D That makes for a awful nice combination!

Is that black or a dark charcoal on the body?

The bowl is standard black. The face is charcoal just like the 2080.

That doesn't look like the same finish as a 2080. I think has been painted black just like a regular U681. I actually prefer this over the bare 2080 finish.

Man, the last couple of months I was envying Tom. Now, I really don't know what I'd do. I'm not a real fan of the cat-eye but this is really looking pretty nice (I love the charcoal finish). Add to that the amazing sound that he says is coming out of it...yikes!...you have guys interested in taking this one off your hands so there's no exposure if you want to go the original route or you can keep this one....good luck with that, man.

Just beautiful. I'm guessing that it sounds very similar to Jeff's red one...

I honestly wasn't a big fan of the cat's eye either. That's why I went with the UTE theme. However, the combo of the sound and the looks on this are stunning. I don't know how to record anything on my computer. I may try to strum a few chords tonight but don't know if the tiny computer microphone I have would give the depth/quality that is coming out of the guitar.

My guess is Tom's may be warmer than mine, without the treble side holes

"SHARP" would be the way I'd describe that - it just looks like a winner.

I don't know, man, I'd probably keep it (making the factory give me some kind of kick-back, of course!).

You known Stephen, looking at what you ordered vs. what you got, I'd keep what you got. It's better looking. Lots better looking......
