Location: SoCal | The common theme through all of this thread is having an Ovation that sounds good unplugged -- just played as an acoustic guitar.
Isn't it interesting that for years Ovation has been selling itself as the plugged in choice. And most of the people here are not even concerned about that. And we're excited by and buying the LX because it is a great sounding unplugged guitar. And are excited by the 12 fret slothead Adamas.
And what's really cool is that Ovation reads this board. |

Location: the BIG Metropolis of TR | My dream O would be like Patsbro's except I like the original Folklore's nut width (1 7/8) with an inlaid rosette and it's gotta be in Natural(-4) finish!! Might look "cool" also if it had the ebony bridge and black peghead veneer!!

3-5 year dream - Light bodied/new truss -Longneck 12 string Textured Top, deep-full bowl in thin gloss black with carved ebony bridge, ebony fretboard with custom MoP alpha-omega inlays, MOP edge and Logo inlay and an OP Pro with balanced and 1/4" outlets from the H/O.
Within a year - LX Mid bowl cutaway 12 string multi-hole in vintage tone on the Bearclaw spruce with the inlaid epaulets, surrounded by MoP edge and inlays over ebony frets and bridge. OP Pro from the H/O piezo. Where I will find a strap that is worthy I may never know.

Location: Louisville, OH 44641 | See what you've started AL! It's been fun reading about everyone's dream guitar. There are lot's of different Ovation fantasies out there. Yet, this is all the more reason that Ovation should launch a configuator on their web site. Or perhaps you could have a simple version on your web site. A configuator lets you build your custom guitar on line by specifying all the components and it even let's you know price. Very much like ordering a Dell computer. |

A Q.
Not the ones they're making now with those gay squiggles for sound holes but one like the originals that had a dodge viper grill look to it. One of these with a 1 3/4 nut and a nice thick, but hollow neck. A grafite bowl for more lightness and flatten out the back some so it won't slide off the leg (yes it happens to me too). Waverly keys for light weight, ebony bridge and f/b (or a real hard phenolic) Straight acoustic, no inlays, all black. It would get that stealth look. The whole thing would come in at less that 4 pounds and would sound great. |

With so many wonderful flavors to choose from how can anyone settle on the perfect guitar?

And I like your ideas about guitars, or was that guns? you can never have enough. And the ultimate guitar is only the ultimate till you've finally got it and then it moves to the next guitar you want.
That said, when you get the longneck 12 sorted out it should be in the top 10 of anyone's list. |

Location: 6 String Ranch | That is just too far. There are priveledges in this country like driving. You got to learn how to do it right (although parts of New Jersey are exempt)or you don't drive. When you vote you need to know how to do it (as seen in Palm Beach) and know the language of the country you are in. That's not too much to ask. |

One of the behavioral programs we do is a Repeat Offender Traffic Program (16hrs) - in the last 3 months, had at least 14 different languages (besides English and Spanish) where they had to bring their own translator. This means that they have had more than one traffic offense, no longer eligible for regular traffic school...then we get a number of date of births with month and day listed as one (01/01/70.) By the way, many of the individuals needing translators have been in the US for a number of years (or are cab drivers.)
Not bashing, just that eventually they should assimilate. |
