What's this about an OFC guitar? Will Miles have these for sale in the Store?

You asked for it Al ! It was your post.

I thinks one reason that Al won't tell us anymore details on the guitar is that his face will be airbrushed on the top. Therefore there will be a new multihole design so that the holes will be where his eyes, nose, mouth etc. are going to be placed. I wont attempt to guess where the hole for the jack and XLR are going to be.

"Once again David E is a font of useless misinformation. "

Geez Al... I was just trying to be good and not spill the beans!

The rest of what I wrote was 100% true and accurate. I thought news of a new preamp system with advances in getting rid of the piezo quack would be newsworthy.

I'll have Sue smack you on the head for being mean to me.

Al,

Any idea what will become of the non-LX USA models (e.g. regular Balladeer, Balladeer Special, Elite Special)? Will they be phased out and replaced by the LX line?

I'm not Al  but from what I got out of the "interesting article" post was that the assembly line lends itself to old and new styles.

Bowl sizes will vary but not be impossible to produce.

"I had a customer ask about a lefty LX and I approached Rich Hall about it. He said they will be coming soon and they are in the works."

Oh, great...I was told lefties wouldn't be along for possibly another year, so I ordered an "old-style" lefty Legend... which means I'll soon be gassing for another one (probably an Elite this time, if I know my GAS pains...)!

How about they make it to the exact specs of the ADAMAS SLOTHEAD PROTOTYPES !!!!! with the option of either a 6 or 12 string.

Don't be surprised!

Think Slotheaded Adamas I proto with an OP Pro, lighter bowl, single epaulet, 12th fret, deep cutaway and some carved trim. That's my take.

We'll see!

. . . I think perhaps we need to ratify an "Amendment" to topics which we deem "VERBOTEN":

1. Politics

2. Religion

3. Profanity

d.) OFC Guitar "Options" . . . .

Cliff,

Can you come up with a Graemlin for "High Bloodpressure"?

Let's change the shape of the bowl.

Let's make it mauve.

a 7 string deepshallow left handed double noncutaway mandouke banjer with OPee 87.5 preamp

I'll buy that as long as it has a built in 457 Magnum custom straplock and a Winchester '73 neck assembly. I also would really like a bayonet attachment on the bottom strap, only problem I can see is I don't think it could be a "carry on" at most airports.

It should also have a warning label, "PLEASE DON'T VIOLATE MY AIRSPACE"

I don't think Pete Seeger would buy one of these.

In my view, the OFC guitar should be something unique, collectable and virtually unattainable via the standard line.

For me it's gotta be an original old style slothead Adamas with Op Pro preamp.

Lets face it, we'd all like one, it's the holy grail of Ovation guitars.

In an effort to increase OFC awareness and interest in this guitar would it be possible for Al to consider raffling the first one made. (I'm sure discussions with his contacts at Ovation would have to be done etc...) Every member would have an opportunity to buy a ticket first, then with any tickets that remain, members would be allowed to buy additional tickets till all were sold. Hopefully, with any additional tickets they would be sold individually and not the remaining to one person, but that is for the great minds to decide. The winner of the raffle would be guaranteed the #1 produced. Seems to me it would increase overall interest for this guitar and as most members are not in a position to buy prototypes or high end guitars they would find themself with a chance to get a #1 produced. Could do this with the 1st and last produced.. Lost of options.
Just a thought.. :D
