And of course Arizona mexican is the REAL deal (god bless the border patrol). It's just that friggin California mexican food that goes through me like a damn farerri on steroids. I'm sorry but you don't make burritos with brae cheese, farm raised salmon and spinach. Dave

Found a direct flight on Frontier for $305 RT, but the schedule is for the nocturnal. Mauvis, any recommendations on ground transportation between JAX and Amelia Island?

Joined: October 2006 Posts: 5576 Location: big island | i ain't gonna be able to make it. i found out last night that due to extremely low hotel occupancy rates (37% currently) here on big island, all the musicians working for one of the agencies i am booked with are layed off until further notice. also, the second agency i work for had planned an entire new production at a major resort which was going to keep us with steady work. that resort was just acquired by another group of investors and indefinitely placed the production on hold. normally, this is convention season here and we have more gigs 4-6 nights per week. we are lucky to get two a month now. i really think this is a symptom of all the travel costs, red-tape and crapola. companies are choosing to hold their meetings closer to home or in las vegas rather than hawaii. at any rate, as beautiful as hawaii is, it is not a pretty picture for us musicians or any of the hospitality industry workers now. waskel, i am glad it worked out for you to room with mike and jim.

Correct me if my presumption is incorrect, Beal.

I really think Matt is looking to ya'll for direction on what you want. I don't think you want to leave Sat night, it will be a big time but missing Sunday probably won't hurt. I'm working on Joe to book Matt there at the Frickinmermaid for Saturday night. I'm sure that there will be ample opportunity for "Play along with Matt".
