Duh! SWMBO's already got her clothes spread out on the floor, while I've been trying to figure out how to best carry the guitar stuff. Priorities. I'll throw a couple T-shirts in the car somewhere after we figure out how to get all her clothes and toiletries in with my guitar and golf clubs.
I wish I had time to practice, but I know that as soon as I try to play something with someone else possibly listening, my mind will go blank anyway.

Mark, is this a common pre-trip ritual for her?

I'm more antsy about the drive than anything else... I'll be doing it alone (unless I give Nicky a shot behind the wheel!).

Making lists and starting to pack at least a week ahead of time is pretty much the norm. For me it's the night before or morning of. I generally forget something and she usually has a bunch extra.

No more sleeps! Leave for Ohio this morning, and then for Ali's on Tuesday...may be incommunicado until we get to Hot Springs, so will see all you other sojourners when you get there!
(This is way better than looking forward to Christmas!!) :D

Gleefully,

Thanks, TRboy. I'm hoping the weather gets better! The past three days in a row we have had three seperate hail storms each day. Last night we had golf ball size and a bunch of cars in town had their windshields shattered and are severely dented. Not trying to scare you folks, but want to warn you, when you get here, find at least a tree to park under. (There is only one overpass in town to park under.)

As a matter of fact, I'm usually open 'til 5 on Sundays but I don't think I'm going to make it today. The golf ball sized hail yesterday was termed "large hail". Today they are predicting "VERY large hail", and we're under a tornado watch. It's getting very dark and windy, so I'll be leaving to get my car in the garage. :(

Iffy, it's a dry 54°. It'll feel wonderful. But there's nothing wrong with a little antifreeze just in case.

Rain is OK. I don't like hail, though. Tried out the car top carrier today on the Cayman and it seems secure up to the speed I was able to get up to. I didn't test it at Interstate speeds, but it should be fine.
Lots of things to do before we leave. I just found two broken sprinklers this afternoon that I'll have to repair. Fortunately, it's raining, so the grass isn't dying.
Better go start packing.

Alison's shop: 703 N River Street, Hot Springs, SD.

As to a schedule/program... never had one for a jam, other than AI.

BTW Steven, are you and Lia doin' another duet? The last one I saw was beyond awesome!

The workshop will be starting at noon on Saturday. The concert is at seven. The jam session on Friday starts whenever we feel like it. The folks from our local newspaper will be here Friday to take pictures and do a story.

The annual Arts and Crafts Festival will be going on all weekend too. That is right down the street and there will be all kinds of food and stuff for sale, and live music. You will all probably want to check that out while you're here.

SWMBO will be happy to know about the arts and crafts festival. I hope the rest of you aren't tired of jamming by the time I get there on Saturday.

Due to some unforseen events occurring, I will not be making the trip after all. Bummer! I hope you all have a great time. Play a song for me, and, if there are any liquid refreshments, drink one for me.

Bummer, Alan. I hope everything's OK with you, and if you can't make it, there's always next year.
