Well this is the first time I've had the opportunity to get in front of a computer since departing 'The Event'. All I can say is that DAMN I'm glad I went! Before last week I had only met Beggin' and MusicMike, but I immediately felt I'd known everyone for a long time. Incredible!

Beal did a great job pulling all this together and thanks go out to him and his bride for hosting us and providing a most enjoyable evening. Matt was (is) great and I went away with a whole lot of insperation to get more serious about this guitar affliction I've aquired.

Beggin and Mike welcomed me into the 'Musicians Suite' atop the Florida House so I was sure not to miss a thing. Everyone was great and as mentioned before, I heard more great music in 4 days than I have in the past year. Debanjo is only a couple of hours away so I hope to get over the mountain and check him out this summer.

Last, Davis Turner was rockin' the whole week. Watching him and Pam playing every song at a 110% and enjoying himself as much as he was was the greatest. Keep it up Davis! I wish I could make your show every week!

One last thing.

I left my camera in the Conference center. If anyone found it, please drop me a line. It is a Canon 750SD (I think). I need to find this as there will be hell to pay (if you know what I mean) if I lost it. I left it on a chair in near the back left corner, near the coolers.

Brad, you might want to call the Florida House Inn and ask Joe or Diana if anyone turned it in.

There we were... first thing in the morning.... getting tuned up at the start of class. As the group settles down we hear a humming type noise. We're all trying to figure out what it is. Air conditioner?? Nope. Ballast on a florecent light going bad??? Nope. People are pointing to different areas of the room saying, "It's coming from over there!". Matt said, "What ever it is it's a C# and it's driving me crazy."

Then, Bill came up behind me, looked around, and had me walk to the center of the room. Sure enough, the sound went right along with me. I had a Korg tuner in my pocket and when I settled in with my guitar, the tone button got pushed. I removed the offending device from my pocket and sure enough, it was sending out a C# tone.
Embarassing for me but nice chuckle for everyone else.

I knew a few people in our college choir that could tell you the note corresponding to any hum. A flourescent light hum would drive them nuts.
It's tough when you get too big for your britches isn't it, Brad? I keep locking or unlocking the cars in the garage when I bend over with the key fob in my pocket. It was really spooky when we had a van with automatic sliding doors. I thought they were possessed for awhile until I found out I was bending over and sqeezing the button in my pocket.

We were in D tuning at the time too. So Brad was "just a little different"...

This thread must stop....
Really.

It should become a thread that other (YOUNGER) threads refer to.

You should be pretty rested based on the number of hours of straight snoring we had to endure in the OFC Frat House...lol

Anybody notice that for all the Adamii at the clinic, there were no smooth topped Adamii there? All textured top and almost all were either old or reissues. Great guitars.....

I just put the new set of the DR strings from the clinic on the #47...it sounds great: those peacock blue strings take a bit of getting use to visually though...WE'll see how they last (supposed to last a very long time)...

Mike, about those DR's - some of the blue coating might wear away where you pick or strike the strings fingerstyle, but it doesn't affect tone. And they do last. Look forward to hearing your thought after you've played them for a bit.

They also come in green, silver, red, and black so you can match the strings to the top of your guitar!

I still think you ought to mix 'em up and have rainbow strings.

Red would be great for the 47...I'll have to check that out!

Bobbo, as pretty as that sounds, for a pastor, any colored strings is a stretch...then again, it is biblical...lol (note to self: call or write the company) ;)

I put the blue set on my 1581. They look pretty cool, except there was 2 30's and no 22 in the package, so right now it has 5 blue and 1 bronze...
I contacted DR and they're sending another set.
