I'm devoting this weekend to getting the camping gear down from the attic & restringing all the guitars I'm bringing.

Don't forget guitar stands! And music stands, if ya got 'em.

Gettin' excited!

Beggin' - still OK if I crash with you Friday? I'll call ya this weekend sometime.

Just got up to NC last night. There really aren't any gas problems anymore. Those coming might make sure to bring a sweat shirt or some jackets, it can get pretty chilly in the evening and at night. You might want shorts during the day but definately want long pants at night.
Only a week away.

Serge, there is always room for ya in tha Inn! :D

We'll let Richard have the Marley Suite. (I may even get the poster of 'Ol Bob up this week)

Plenty of couches and a fold out.

Otto, are you still onboard?

Y'all let me know about arrival times so I can plan on some eats.

If anyone else would like to stay Friday night, just drop me a PM.

Trboy, would you and the Mrs. like to join us Friday?

Looking forward to the whole weekend!

Thanks Beggin. This is very hospitable. Depending upon my circadian rhythms I may either be asleep on my feet or ready to start a brand new day when we arrive late on Friday night.

Seriously, Beggin, I think Richard's plane gets in around 9:30, so we may be LATE, though I hope not past 1am. If you want, you can leave the back door open and we can just crash in your office.

Richard, you'll find that hospitable and Beggin are the same thing.

Richard, if I have figured correctly, it will be well past lunch time, for you, when you get to Simpsonville. I have been known to cook a few late night breakfasts, but I am flexible.

Have you ever had grits?

Depending on what time g8r and Otto arrive, and knowing us, we will still be playing and singing when y'all get here.

The Jersey Girls are all set; staying at a B&B in Hot Springs Fri. and Sat. nights, and then at the home of the Music Mikes Sunday on the way back.
Even with the "commuting," we don't plan on missing much.
We should get down there late Friday afternoon; we'll offload the personal stuff and trek on over while it's still light.
6 more sleeps!! :D

I've never had grits. I'm known for being daring, so I'll give it a go.

I'm bringing lots of TimTams to the jam. Also, I was going to pick up a bottle (or two if that doesn't exceed my allowance) of duty free spirits when I arrive in LA. Anyone got any particular preference?

Two holes! Yeah, my W597 had two as well.

I've never found any bargains at on liqueur at US duty free stores and the selection is fairly limited. Maybe others have had better luck. Actually North Carolina is pretty competitive with respect to TN, FL, and OH.

Has some type of a schedule been proposed? When is everyone converging on the cabin, when will we brake up on Sunday?

I seem to remember that Keith proposed meeting somewhere Saturday morning and move on up to the cabin in late morning. Currently I'm not sure if I'm coming up Friday night or Saturday morning.

Brad - as far as I know, the Southern contingent (me, TJ, Gway, Iffy, Captain_Lovehandles & Richard) are converging on Beggin' Friday night, then we'll grab TRBoy as we head up to the cabin Saturday morning, so Saturday's the big day.

Counting the days!

Anyone attending the Jam have a spare 9158 case they want to sell? I'd like the case but would would also like to avoid shipping charges if possible.

Drop me a PM if you're interested in selling.

Well, I found a case. Now I have a pretty nice brown w/ gold interior OHSC for sale.

$50.00 OBO. I can bring it to the Smokey Jam.

Too easy.

Case is GONE!

Sorry for posting here, but felt it was JAM appropriate.

How good is the cell phone reception on the Jam grounds? Is there a land line available?

I think they have a different system of communication up there. You play a sequence of notes on your banjo and that is passed on by a series of banjos. I think this was copied off the native Americans, although they didn't use banjos.

There is not a land line at the cabin and the cell service is weak....You can drive to the top of the Mtn. and get service
