Gibson's 335 neck (at least on mine) is 1-5/8", and the A neck on the Jag is 1-9/16", so you'll need two more downward gradations. Since most necks are 1-11/16", how about this? I propose they rename neck widths: 1-11/16 = Slim 1-3/4 = Regular 1-7/8 = Magnum 1-9/16" = Ultra slim 1-5/8" = Slim 1-11/16" = Standard or regular 1-3/4" = Wide 1-7/8" = Magnum I also measured and compared the circumference of all my guitars at the first, fifth and 12th frets some months ago. The results were telling, although I can't seem to find them at the moment. The rumors about Ovation neck comfort appears to be documented in the measurements. They are very similar to most of the electrics.

For instance, the Normal Blake would be a Wide Plus and the CW-28 would be a Standard Plus? Is this how it works in the factory's nomenclature department?

Al told me that he looked at samples in the factory and that they were dead nuts identical to Cliff's original. If you've seen the way they spray these you'll wonder how they can even get two of them the same. Quite an art. Dave

I know people think West Virginia is remote, but it really isn't. It's kind of like having a neighbor who has a swimming pool that you can use. Almost all the advantages without the headaches. I will be happy to let anyone play mine once I get it, but I don't think I'll let it leave my sight at least for awhile. Sort of like having to watch the neighbor's kids when they come over to use your pool. (I guess I'm in one of my rare glass is half full periods.)
