I haven't figured out the flight yet and when I first thought it was cheaper to go to Seattle than to Boise, I hadn't figured flying back from Seattle to Boise. I'm now thinking about flying back to Boise and then jumping in the car with a couple guitars and driving up. I might even base my decision on how many guitars I can get in the Cayman. I should be able to make it in by evening on the 4th, driving or flying.
Otherwise I may take that shuttle and fly back Sunday.

Mark,
Most likely my Wife will leave me because I want to spend yet another Holiday hanging out with a bunch of Musicians! If that is the case I'll come pick you up and even drive you back home.

Of course I'll probably need to stay there for a coupla-weeks...

BTW - why not just ship a couple of instruments to Mile's house for the event?

I figured that at least one of most everything I have would be there. I'll check on the flights again, but it looks like I could fly back to Boise and drive the rest of the way and be there just a little later than if I flew to Seattle and got a ride up from there.
We have lots of room for houseguests, Mike. My wife figures she'll be working that weekend, but I suspect that's an excuse to avoid us. They just don't know what they're missing.

If I'm on my own and with my car, Miles will have to throw me out. I used to have a reputation as the last one to leave a party, as long as beer was still available, but then marriage and kids etc. You know how it goes. The flights back get in about 11, so if I leave by noon on Sunday, I should still beat those. I'm starting to look forward to a road trip the more I think about it. Driving to San Diego last summer by myself in one long stretch was kind of a kick. Driving back with others wasn't.

My thoughts exactly, and the pleasure is doubled on a motorcycle.

Too much work and they don't hold enough guitars. I took the OFC guitar to San Diego as my passenger.

Well, as long as we're making a wish list....
I'd like to see/hear what an O made for nylon strings feels like.

....and a viper
....and a UKII
....and a fretless bass
....and a Banj-O

Just so I understand this... Boise to Mount Vernon is less than 600 miles.

There will be plenty of guitars here I would think

At least one OFC, Book Elite, and Medallion for starters for acoustics, but that doesn't even tip the iceberg for some of the folks coming.

As far as the solid bodies... I don't have an VXT (yet), UltraGP, Storm or 12-string. All others are covered, in some cases in triplicate or more.

I'm not sure I would pass up riding that time of year. I rode to Connecticut from Maryland for one of the Factory tours. I ended up staying at the Stonge Palace an extra day because it snowed.

As far as staying longer here... some... rather MANY end up coming to the Pacific NW for a visit and NEVER leaving.

Hopefully, not because the perpetual rains and resulting flooding closes all the roads leading outta there. I use to carry a really expensive custom-made backpack tent that was absolutely guaranteed not to leak. And it didn't, until I spent two weeks along the Oregon and Washington coasts one summer. No matter, I have really good rain gear for the bike, and I'm really looking forward to the event.

I'll be bringing my UKII so we can match up some knobs, and the Tornado too, just cuz I'd like to get your input on it, and I may even need stuff for it.

I still don't have it, it's down in PHX.

What about other non-O stuff? Any interest in having me bring the V, or possibly the doubleneck?

I got a big truck, and a short drive so...

I'm glad I was gone for the past couple hours. My wife found the flights I was looking at originally and booked me direct to Seattle. I get in at 10 something in the morning on the 4th. Currently, a flight from Seattle to Boise can be had for $81, but you can't book them that far out.
We discussed the guitar situation and I told her basically what Miles said. Somebody else must have a Ute, Folklore and Country Artist they could bring. If tdeej comes over with his van, he's got a 1547, Book, and a 1763 as well as other better versions of what I have. As we get closer and find out what people are bringing, I can maybe fill in a gap or two by taking some over to my daughters when we move her to Portland in June and let her or one of the Portland folks bring them up.
Or, Damon, $81 to fly to Boise right now. I'll give you free room and board for a limited time only. Offer expires without further notice.

Miles, YOU don't have a Storm?!?!?!

Well, I'll bring my beater T-head then. I may be the only one who loves it.....but my wife says the same about me so there ya go. Besides, maybe we can find some NOS at your place to tart it up and get it back closer to original specs.

BTW; we're now at 6 pages. We have less than 4 months to push it up over 44 pages like the Amelia thread.

Let the silliness begin!

We'll ramp it up after the Amelia gig. I didn't want to muddy the waters with too much going on at once :)

Isn't it great that we have so much going that we have to pace ourselves??
I wish I could make that trip out to the left coast.
Maybe someday.

HA! I'm not sure where you got the idea that I'm qualified to do that. I have very limited knowledge compared to most of you here.

But dude! I'm always of for a guitar playin' trip!

Somebody needs to do it. I've been studying this board for 3 years now and I still haven't learned how to play guitar.
