I'm sure we'll have a chair for me at the NW Gathering, so the rest of the guys can get to the beer easier.

Tim, glad to see that y'all will be coming.

For those that have not had the pleasure of meeting Tim, you are in for a great treat!! He is a real nice guy with an easy goin attitude to match, and at 6'10" and 300 lbs that's a good thing. (OK, maybe I exaggerated about his size a bit there). :D

Come to think of it, there's not a soul that I have met from the OFC that isn't friendly.

...the SS Jam II just keeps gettin better!!!!

Boy, this jam is really taking off! Now for a word from our sponsor.... I have an extra 9158 case in next to mint condition for sale and a Fender Acoustasonic SFXII amp for sale also. I bought it off StephenT and don't have the occasion to use it at all now. Plus, I just bought a set of Tama Rockstar drums, and need the room. If anyone is interested in either one, I can bring it/them to the jam and save on the shipping. I would like to get 75.00 for the case. I paid StephenT 500.00 for the amp, and would take 450.00 for it. As you can expect, coming from him it is in new condition. The foot controller is still in the plastic shrink wrap and it has the original 5 year warranty card with it, unfilled out. Let me know if you would like either one or both and I can bring them up. Now, back to our regular thread...

I cut the yard yesterday, for the first time this year. Many reasons for waiting so late, Amelia Isle trip, too lazy, playing new songs, too lazy, grass too high to cut, too lazy, cutting would reveal all the holes that occureed because of drought and a broken sprinkler sytem, too lazy.

The grass won't be in good shape by the Jam, but at least any abuse that it get's won't hurt it either. TRboy says he has a tent, of some sort, to help protect us from the afternoon sun, and we will need it. Or we can head inside to tha comfort of a little A/C.

Beggin,

Got a reservation around the corner from you for the weekend. We'll plan on heading down Friday morning and leaving Sunday afternoon.

Man, I just called Beggin to converse a little, and I asked him if he was busy. He said he was just playing the guitar. That's happened the last couple of times I called. I'm afraid he's going to be MUCH better that the last time I saw him, which will put me to shame since I haven't found much time to practice. I'd better get busy!

TJ, talk about finding time...

I took off this past week and:
1) Hung with the fam (spring break)
2) Took in a Seven Story Fall concert.
3) Put together a new grill.
4) Got a new puppy (Humane Society adoption), German Shepherd mix (mutt)
5) Did yard work like Jim, first good time this year.
6) Headed up to the N. GA mountains by myself (where I am now), trout fishing, playing guitar, and I built a cigar box guitar (I'm at my wife's parents house in the mtns, while they are in Nebraska, and Paw-in-law has a nice shop. And the great thing is... my cell doesn't work here.

Doing pretty much everything that I "don't have time for".... priceless. I'm heading out now to fish some more.

Oh, I even got to speak to Capo Guy on the phone. Prince of a guy.

Jas,

Your Sister In Law and her husband made it to Dollywood. Yea, I was working while you guys were having fun. I did get a quick look at Dolly as she rode by in the parade.

Funny she never looks any older, and I do.

That's funny. My wife had one of those women's mags at the house a few months ago, with Dolly on the cover. Must have been some amazing airbrush work, 'cause she looked 20.

Less than two months til tha JAM....

Funny, but, we all (most of us coming to tha JAM) have done this a few times and apparently have lost a little of the pre-JAM witty repartee...that's OK 'cause it will give us more to kid around about when y'all get here..

Have y'all been practicin your new songs?

Have y'all been playin your new O's, A's, other brands?

Are y'all ready for a GOOD TIME?

Are there any NEW songs to add to the OLD songbook?

Does anyone need any help acquiring room reservations or directions to Simpleville?

...or is it that we have done this a few times and know what to expect, so the pre-Jam newness has worn off (but the experience itself will remain another gathering of good friends, good music and another example of TRboy noodleing (sic) with an unknown musical instrument or other device)?

It is not to late for you NOOBS to decide to come and join us.

Are we supposed to be writing a song, or just learning something to perform?

Jas..YES!

Somewhere in this thread, it was suggested that we write and perform a song (no theme).

It could be a fun (?) diversion to the songbook run thru.

However, a few covers could be just as fun...your choice really. You and Adam could come up with a great tune, I have no doubt. Or, perform one of his bands tunes, unplugged?!
