Unless someone dies without notice, any weekend in August is good for me.

Infact I could probably have stayed long enough to have Drift bump born in the US in september. Not that Im bitter and twisted and in need of a slightley better accountant!!!!

My daughter keeps telling me that it will cost less to send her to school in Spain next year than it did to send her to Portland. I suspect she's forgetting a few costs.

OK, the possibility that that NY/NJ group might be able to get together before us forced me to bring this back up. I noticed we've been talking about it for over a year and we have about 4 of us for August 5. If August 19 works better for more people, I will find a way to piss off my family, sneak out of Mom's birthday party and at least drop in. Lord knows they should be used to it. I could also do August 12 in Portland, but dvd can't make it then.
If we're still on for August 5, let's settle on a place. We need to get Alaskan Fly Guy to come down and bring his Ute. I'm thinking I won't let him fly back with it. I bet if I told my Mom I had to have it so I could play her a song on her birthday, no one would mind. "Momma" by B.J. Thomas is super simple, except for the high notes, and is sure to score any son points with his Mom.

Sorry, can't do it on the 5th. Right in the middle of our annual church family camp.
You'll be visiting and playing great guitars. I'll either be eating burgers or riding the Goldwing. At least we'll all be having fun at the same time.

Well, if the date changes to get more folks available, i have clearance from SWMBO to open the house any weekend in August.

Just throwing it out there as an option.

Why don't you guys just rent a LogSplitter and let 'em play with that???

I'm sure that splintering wood (and phallic-shaped objects) might go over quite well . . .

(and you'll be all "set" for th'Winter)

We could probably whip something up. Gh1's place is just east of downtown Portland, so lots to do in nearby downtown and Hawthorne areas.

There's supposed to be dozens of fabric stores in the Portland area, so my wife is fully self supporting for the event. Will take riders with her if there's interest. (quilters prefered)

I might be able to pull that date off. I have built in Spouse activities....two daughters, four grandchildren and one will be 3 months old in August. All within spittin' distance (Vancouver and Silverton).

Matter of fact, I may have to go work at my office there on Friday just to get a head start on the event.

Hopefully the wife will let me have the car so I don't have to hitch a ride.

I do have to be back home for Sunday morning, so will leave sometime Saturday afternoon.

As things stand right now, the 19th works fine.
fillhixx, my wife is a quilter too. She requests that your wife save her a seat.

If we can cement the date in quickly (19th is fine), I think I can secure the date to Portland rather than Pocatello to visit the wife's Oklahoma relatives--they can't make up their minds. Actually I would be very pleased to absorbed with guitars rather than drown in flatlander stories. Glad the wife doesn't read the OFC.

I'll be in the area, so I'll find a way to slip away from Mom's birthday party. I don't know if anything is planned for that either. I'll try to get my wife going on that so I can know what I have to work around.
