Hey, has anybody seen the new issue of Rolling Stone? It has a fake outer cover that's an ad for the new abc show Life On Mars... reprinting the famous Dr. Hook cover from 1973. Perfect timing.

Are we going to get a somewhat final list of those coming as of now? Also how many females/wives/signifigant others? Kids (beside my two)?

Mike,

So far we have 20 males and 11 females. I didn't track a breakout on categories.

Email me, 2ifbyC@tampabay.rr.com, and I'll send a Word doc copy of the complete spreadsheet. I'd post it here but the format isn't compatible.

But here is a list of OFC attendees that have responded:

For the record, I'll have sleeping bags and air mattresses for Richard and myself. We'll need a piece of floor somewhere to sleep on Saturday night. Planning to spend Friday night at Casa de Beggin.

Mike,

After going back through the emails here's the best I could come up with:

5-7 young 'O's
5-6 'O' brides
plus several members unsure if they can make it

With C_L and Richard, we're up to 22 males (including the young 'O' males).

Sorry, that's the best info I have for now.

The "Steely-Eyed Northern Girls" need some help (and not just because we're northern):
1. Cheryl and I were checking the maps on-line last night, and they sent us all different ways, most of which looked very aroundabout. We're coming down 81--how do we get from there to the directions beginning with "Head west on I-40 W"?
2. Also, up here we've been hearing about the gas shortages down South; how is it in your area, Keith? As much as we like the idea of visiting, we don't want to get there and get stuck! ;)
3. We're planning on stopping about halfway home and finishing on Monday; can anyone who's made the trip up and down recommend anything on or just off 81 in lower VA?
Thank you all for contributing to our safe arrival,

--Karen

Karen,

Pick up I-26 in western VA and follow to I-40 West. Gas is available in eastern TN and prices are dropping to around $3.25 for regular. Keith will have to chime in on western NC.

There are nice places to stay (Holiday Inn Express) in Woodstock, VA at exit 283 off I-81. Also, there is a Quality Inn at exit 264 in New Market,VA that should be comfortable, I used to live in Woodstock and work in New Market about 8 years ago. These suggestions will put you about 5 1/2 - 6 hrs up the road. I hope this helps.

Karen - I just sent you an email with a link to directions. I'm not sure where you're going to catch 81, but this'll get you the rest of the way.

We're driving down on thursday night and staying at a hotel a little over half way there. On Friday we're going to the Biltmore Estate in Asheville (the price I have to pay for the wife coming), which seems to be about an hour away from the compound. I can get you that hotel information too... Brad's hotel suggestions are good.

It just started snowing here. Great big flakes. This is about the earliest I ever remember it snowing here. North Carolina is sounding really nice. Just for kicks, I'm going to check on plane tickets.

Nope, $1000 would buy a pretty nice guitar. I think the prices went up a bit since I flew to Charlotte this summer.

Are we plugging in or acoustic?

Can I bring a capo? ;)

Got to get to Goodwill Tropical shirt hunting. Since it might be cool in the mountains I'm wondering if you can get a tropical design sweatshirt. :D

Mark Tough about the snow, Another reason I say I Use to live in upstate New York. :D

Yes. Some are bringing amps and such fancy gadgets. ;) Besides, how will we hear the 'weather reports' without pluggin' in?

Can I bring a capo?
Wouldn't recognize ya without ya wearing one as a tie clasp!

Tropical shirt hunting
Thanx for the reminder!
