Less than a week as I'm getting in Tuesday afternoon. And unless I start writing something this weekend, I won't have a song. Never written a song in my life (but there's a first time for everything.....)

I'm actually heading down to Florida first thing monday morning.

Crap! I better start packing...

I have two lines, can't sing, and would make a great judge - along with Beggin.

...me neither, but Beal is a very persuasive man. If the Mermaid were instead named for a boat, we'd be a Ship of Fools.

Tell me about it. Actually - I may fly this time. The fare I saw was $78 one way. The rental car was significantly more expensive. I could pawn a couple of days worth of a rental car off on work - but not that much.

That's what happened at the last Tour. Every time I saw him he had one in his hand...
Yet somehow he still managed to play great guitar...

I have been fighting the flu the last few days so my guitar practice and wind song construction/practice have suffered.

Course if it is like my golf game, the lack of practice will only help.

Keep fighting.

My song may not be great but I don't think it's so bad that you puking onstage will help it. :D

Well, wait... considering the probable condition of the judges, the general atmosphere of the room by then...

... naw. Room's too small. You'd likely end up paying someone's dry cleaning bill. Just get better.

Talk to Joe about being a judge. He's usually looking for them. He only needs three and might pick one or two from the ofc. Keep in mind there usually are 10+/- players and local others as well.

I'm redoing my mobile home song tonight. It got nothing last time. I changed the last line from "where my true love will stay" to "where my blond love will stay"
Hey it's a stretch but I've seen worse, and besides, I'm playing it on a lovely blond maple C-10.

Well, even if the song doesn't win at least you know the guitar will sound great!

Mike Howerton had to back out tonight, family stuff. We do have someone taking his place.

DARBY NIX

Darby has assured me that he does have a wind song as well.

Look what the wind blew into town........

What's the car situation looking like? I'm wondering if I should rent a car when I get in. Will we need cars to get to golf on Thursday or anywhere else?

If I get something, I can pick up Temp, Clifford, Witko, and Bobbo on Wednesday and we can all hit the airport on Sunday. If everybody chips in $20 will it make sense and can we get use out of it during the week?

If it's too tight, I'll "cab" it . . .

Cliff,

Tell me again when you are getting in. I'll be coming through about 4 pm on Wednesday and will have space for a couple of riders.

I'm getting in around 11:30.
No room in Dave's car so I'll be "cabbing" it.
.
I was about to post my cell phone number on an open message board and then gave it a second thought.

Brad PM me your number just in case we work something out. Maybe I should rent a school bus. You know, the SHORT kind.

Dave, I'm willing to chip-in for a bigger car, or a (ugh!) mini-van . . .

(hey! I won't be driving it . . .)
