But wait.. there's so much more. Another history lesson from LOF.
1971 - This song's origin was from being composed as nothing more than incidental music for the film "Bless the Beasts and the Children".
Its official title is "Cotton's Dream".
1973 - Then the TV soap "Young & The Restless" picked it for their opening theme. Still use it today.
1976 - Then ABC Sports used it for a post-Olympic highlight reel montage of Nadia Comaneci's gymnastics work at the 1976 games.
The response was huge. Switchboards lit up with people wanting to know where to buy the song.
Herb Alpert heard about this and pounced on the opportunity with his record label (A&M). Gave it the honorary title "Nadia's Theme".
It charted 22 weeks and topped out at #8 in December 1976.
2018 - Barry DeVorzon still reels in huge money today on the rights to this nearly 50-year-old song.
