You know, I've had times when I've been working when I've slept in the back of a Pinto. When I'm on vacation, I've learned to stay someplace nice. It's all part of relaxing and treating yourself right....

The best laid plans...

Originally, I was driving down on wednesday - with guitars, golf clubs etc.

Now it looks like I'll be in Miami on monday and tuesday for business - which means I'm flying to Miami and driving up from there on wednesday.

Bottom line - no guitars, no clubs...so Beal - I will need to rent clubs and borrow a guitar if you would be so kind.

The rentals are $30. Not a lot and dragging a set around can be a pain.

Has anyone heard from Designzilla???
I don't think he has checked in at all.
I want to meet this guy. He better not be trying to weasel out.
I've never met Steve but after working with him on 3 calendars I've learned that he is the consumit "Last Minute" type of guy.
Would someone down there shake the bushes please.
I hope a gator didn't get him.

If anyone deserves to meet the (design)man behind the curtain, you do, Brad.

I owe him a drink or two, too, for picking up my '87 and shipping it to me. And refusing to let me pay him back for the shipping.

Hey guys! I'm still alive and well. Thanks for checking up on me. Life has just been very full lately. Lots of family stuff. Work has been f@cking nuts, and full of the stress thought I'd lose when I stopped freelancing and took a corporate gig. I even took a week vacation from work to go to Anaheim and do a freelance gig for the mouse, which paid for this trip.

As of right now, Me and Mrs. Zilla are planning on coming in on Thursday. Although, we are trying to arrange schedules so we can show up Wednesday for the wind action at the Mermaid. If we show up there's a 50/50 chance I'll have a song to embarrass myself with.

I'm very glad to hear there will be at least a couple of other spouses around so my wife won't get bored. On the flip side, I hope she doesn't do too much damage on the credit card, not being bored!

After going back through this thread and checking up on everything I missed, all I can say is, WOW, this is shaping up to be one helluva great time.

It will be great seeing some old friends and meeting (at least face to face) some new ones. I'm really looking forward to all the clinic action and jamming with everybody. Hell, I might even drink a beer, or 20!

See ya'll soon!
Steve

Hide the good silverware.
Make sure your shots are up to date.
Make sure the local authorities have photos of certain attendees for easy identification.
Work up a number of good alibis.
Make sure the Mrs. really knows what she is getting into with the BBQ thing.
Install anti-theft devices in all your guitars and set up a screening process on the only bridge off the island.
Think long and hard about golfing with this group. (You can always come up lame Thursday morning)

Gee Bill.. looks like you really do have a lot on your plate. :D

I think either I'll have him send it to the hotel or to my house. There should be plenty of guitars to play there....
