Al has had the Axe jackets for some time...even out on eBay. I got one and should have gotten one for every guitar I have on a stand. At least, every guitar I take out - if # 003 or the ol' GC goes to a get-together and sits on a stand, it should have one of these. I forgot to bring it the last time we got together (course, not being covered encouraged more people to try the guitars).

You will definitely value it for the OFC guitar.

Al, what does it say on the label? OFC guitar, 1687-8 or both?

Elginacres: Welcome back! I was thinking the same exact thing, and Stephen can bring his #47 and we can mic it so it can compete properly. We have another member up in Fort Collins (Todd?) who might also be interested in this comparo.

Rumor has it that Mickey Mantle, Yogi Barra and Roger Maris will swing slightly bigger bats than the rest of the line up.

Thanks Brad....I was doing all my searching in the SELL/TRADE Section.

If the plan holds to form, this will leave me with a #47RI, an OFC Guitar, an FD14, and my twin baritones as my only 6-string Ovations.

Not too bad of company!

Having wood tops in Colorado is just a pain in the ass and while I can manage 3-4 of them, anymore and they have to go into another room or storage and then I have to consitently worry about humidity issues.

Someone who is paring their collection down to the minimum and wants his guests to play a nice guitar.

Who needs 5-6 12 strings
Who needs 10-15 6 strings
Who needs a weekend house or a beach house
Who needs anything more than good health and family

My guess would be the same kind of idiot that wants a 47 and an OFC...

by the way Dave....don't you have an OFC on order ;)

Yeah, that's the idiot I was referring to !!!

Btw, I ordered mine with the wideneck option so it would be different than the 47. Did you do the same?

My fingers are so short, I need a reduced neck width option.

Dave,

Of course. Since the electronics don't interest me, the wide neck is the justification!

I have sent an email to Al so we will see if this has a happy ending.

I go along with Dave. To have both makes sense. #47 is acoustic only with standard neck. OFC is a/e and I ordered one with the wideneck option. This couple supersedes some of my other guitars. I sold the Collector's 1982, FD14 and (if I will have the heart to do it) will sell my blue Adamas I.

I ordered the regular neck because I, too, have short fingers, although playing the EF75 has opened the world of widenecks for me.

I often ask myself how much of a difference 1/8" can really make but given the choice I would rather have the bigger neck.

I propose they rename neck widths:

1-11/16 = Slim
1-3/4 = Regular
1-7/8 = Magnum
