Yepper, that's me and mine after a few laps around the field.
That was just a test... if Al and Miles don't mind, I'll post a few more that way with captions.

A Plow Day is a lot like an OFC gathering only we get dirtier... Well, maybe NOT. I haven't been to all OFC events!!!

Pumpkintown ain't that Big......many more events like this and they'll lose their one and only flashin' yellow caution light! They'll either become part of Pickens or Marietta!...

Now there's an idea I haven't thought of....pickin and plowin!!! I'll add it to the list of suggested activities.

For some reason, I am hearing a banjo playing off in the distance. I must need to catch up on my sleep.

Well, it didn't take long for reality to shake me back to earth: while I was gone at Amelia, the VBS committee met and picked June 18th thru 22nd as the dates for our combined Vacation Bible School: so no Southern Jam 08 for me...I guess they wanted to avoid the heat in August and try to be the first of the area churches to have a VBS: most of the area kids try to make all of the VBS programs during the summer. So, not much I can do about it! Ya'll have fun and Jim: no middle of the night Huddle House Runs...OK?
I'll be thinking about you all!

Music, good for the kids and sad for us. You will be sorely missed.

I will have to find a new Huddle House participant....hopefully all of the Simpleville police force will be asleep if we go. ;)

As I've said on many occasions before, no one wants to hear me play plugged in, so it won't be an issue with me if we do it all acoustic. I won't have room to bring the drum though, so we'll have to make do without it. Sorry I won't be able to meet you Mike. Some things are more important though...

Folks, I'm bummed...but that unfortunatly is the nature of this occupation: I was expecting to be called away at any minute from Amelia. Thankfully, I was not! Sorry about the PA...any Music stores that do rentals in Greenville Jim?
I'm sure you'll all do just fine! Just remember not to be "that guy", lol!

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed. It depends on the new help they are hiring. I know that is a scary thought.

Mike I'm sorry you won't be there. I was looking forward to learning something.

I guess it will be up to the others to teach me something. Now THAT is a scary thought. :D

I have plenty of drums here...thanks to my son.

And his old band has a PA system that I bought for them....if it doesn't work out, I will go to the pawn shop, that I trade services with, and pickup something that we can use.

g8r, I was runnin to try and get Matt a git and missed alot of the setup that Paul was doing. I am sure that he would be happy to refresh me on the basics if asked though. There are a few people around Simpleville, that I know, that would be happy to help if asked.

As Paul Hogan used to say, "no worries mate"!

Jim, I haven't had any big gear for years but I have built and run some fairly large systems. Would be happy to help with sound any way I could.

If I'm imagining this to be larger than it is and the PA needs are much lighter, I've got a little Peavey Escort I would be happy to volunteer. Never been to The Jam so I'm not really sure what you need. The Peavey isn't much, just a little 4 channel 150W with two 10" satellite speakers on stands, but if you're just after vocals it sure beats yelling. It will reinforce a couple guitars with vocals too, in a pinch. Got three mics and stands available also. If any of this is of use just say the word.

Otto

Otto, at a jam, you don't really NEED anything. Anything that adds to it is a plus (unless it's a non-O guitar), but the real magic of a jam is the people you meet.

Otto, the good Cap'n is right, as always, however, I must say that Music bringing his PA last year was a fantastic addition.

This, literally, will be a backyard Jam this year, so an overpowering PA would only serve to get us arrested. ;) We would gladly accept your offer and can add a few small amps to the mix for guitars. Some of us (ME) prefer that our sound is not amped, so as not to ruin the mix. We will put it all together the closer we get.

Current defs and maybes include:

Defs at this point:
1) Me and Mrs. Beggin
2) Capn Lovehandles and son Adam (who has more talent than us)
3) The Infamous TRboy and Mrs. Tr (along with some strange instruments)
4) g8r, Mrs. G and son and some of his beautiful bevy of O's and Tak's
5) Trader Jim, Mrs. TJ and son (no one knows what he may bring, but it will be only one guitar, guarantee it's a good un)
6} Designzilla and Mrs. Zilla and some of his fantastic collection of O's and A's
7) CrimsonLake, Mrs. CL and son Nicky (also more talented than us) and some of his wild assortment of O's and A's
8) Otto with his PA and new (to him) Ovation (counting you as a def, based on your statement, boy are you in for some fun)

Maybe's:
9) Capo Guy and his assortment of gits and capos (if Dolly will let him go)
10) cholloway with his original slothead as well as his tractor and plow

If I have mispoken or left anyone out, please speak up. A few more have mentioned that they may come, but weren't ready to commit yet.

Anyone else????? Still plenty of time for planning.

THIS IS GONNA BE FUN!!!

I don't know about you guys, but I need 2 things for a jam. An Ovation and a cooler of beer. I don't even need a chair. I'll sit on the cooler until I need to get another beer. A whole bunch of different Ovations are nice, but not essential. I'm easily satisfied.

Aye...Look's like the family will be sailing your way Beggin ;)

I've also got a Peavey 130 to lend to the PA mix if needed. If this in your backyard, we are gonna get a visit from the authorities :(

The Amelia reports indicate that you'll be standing most of the time!
