Oddball was a character in the movie 'Kelly's Heros'. I saw it again just before joining the forum here. The character (played by Donald Sutherland) kinda reminded me of me and my goofball friends in another lifetime. Ergo . . .

Quite a few years back when I was a bad boy (a very bad boy), I used to indulge in some pretty heavy partying. It seemed back then, for some reason, that Thursday nite was the big party nite, more so than Friday. It was also payday for me and my buds at work. Well after calling out sick from work on a countless number of Fridays, and being called on the carpet by supervision about it, my co-workers started calling me(Dave) and Friday- "FRIDAVE". Oh yea, there were quite a few "Mondave's" also during that era of my life !

Welp,
Back in the mid-90's, I was playing around here locally, and I didn't want a certain ex-girlfriend to know of my whereabouts. So, I decided to come up with a stage name. Our bassist at the time picked it out and it stuck - "Tragedy James". I HATED it, but it worked.

Fast forward a couple of years, when I get all hooked up to the internet, and I needed a nickname for the various message boards that I frequent. Somehow or another it became "trag-o-caster" as a blending of "Tragedy" and "Telecaster"

I currently do not go by "Tragedy James", however I still use "trag-o-caster" for all of the guitar-related messageboards. I don't know why.

I'm sure Jeff would like a bottle in front of me instead of a frontal labotomy.

Well, there are several reasons for my name:

1. It's a play on the song "Guitarzan" by Ray Stevens

2. My middle name is Ann

3. I love the song "Annie's Song" by John Denver

4. Although I only have one guitar right now, it is actually my third guitar. My first was a piece of crap Memphis electric, which I traded in for a Stinger SSX electric by Martin.

:D Phil, I lurked here about a week or two ago and found the term "piezo quack" so funny that I was considering changing my name on another forum to PiezoQuack. I know it isn't funny if your guitar has that, but the name just struck me funny!

2ifbyC?

OK, I love and cherish our nation's history and heritage. So the 'two if by sea' is a no-brainer. At that time there was no 'three if by air'...

C - aka sea, due to my love of the waters
C - first letter of my last name

On a couple of music related sites I added 'sharp', '2ifbyCsharp'. But I knew it wouldn't fly here...

Mike, CrimsonLake, laid the 'Iffy' nomer on me a while back. And it stuck... Thanx Mike!

In the beginning...

I was "Mickey J" as a pup because Grampa Mike was "Big Mike", Dad was "Little Mike" and "Uncle Mickey" was a cool dude before he died.

Then I hired into a place where my last name was written on the front of my hardhat...

So, Woody, Woodman, Whitford, Woodard, Woodrow, Woof'rd, etc. became the norm.

And besides that, I'm just excited to be here.

Actually...

William Dawes and Paul Revere were both sent to warn the "Minutemen" but Paul Revere was stopped along the way. Mr. Dawes was able to complete his task.

We remember "The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere" because of the poem that popularized it.

We can't tell you on the internet, Muzza. It's a secret code we still use to keep the Brits out. It hasn't worked very well lately. Speaking of that, where has Schroeder been lately?

Yes, I miss his sarcastic sensibilities.

He's the only 'foreign' OFCer that I've met. Although AJ is spending so much time over there, he'll be applying for a greencard soon.
