What an amazing part of part of our culture at this point. The fact that most of us can remember almost all of these and can probably add some kind of association to each one is incredible. Imagine what our brains COULD be full of if it wasn't for the TV! It's no wonder I can't memorize new lyrics.

Remember Earl Scheib (auto body guy):

"I'll paint any car any color for just $69.95, no ups no downs..."

I wonder if Scheib works on guitars?

Scheib started out at $49.95. It took a while for the price to get up to $69.95. And that $49.95 included painting pretty much everything--door handles, license plates. . . .

"Hello there. My name is Fred Bartles and this is Ed Jaymes. You know, it occurred to Ed the other day that between his fruit orchard and my premium grade wine vineyard, we could make a truly superior premium-grade wine cooler. It sounded good to me. So Ed took out a second on his house, and wrote to Harvard for an MBA, and now we’re preparing to enter the wine cooler business. We will try to keep you posted on how it’s going. And thank you for your support." (I actually used to drink these by the case!)

I don't want to be critical, but I was around when:

"Lucky Strike Green Has Gone to War"

There was some speculation that their (Lucky Strike's) marketing wanted to go to a red background and so tried to get a little good karma by making it a patriotic thing. The explanation was that the green dye was needed for all those olive drab uniforms.
