Just like any other programmed drone spewing forth the carefully selected adjectives to enhance and reinforce all the major features and benefits of the product. Such Bull sh*t! Yes they are great guitars, no question there.

My job description is to "Spew forth carefully selected adjectives to enhance and reinforce all the major features and benefits of the product." That's what marketing IS. What do you expect Rick to say? "Our product rocks dude, and the competition is just crap. Anyone playing a wooden box is a total a-hole." ??? I have met Rick on three occasions and while I don't 100% agree with Kamans total marketing approach, I can tell you that Rick has a definate finger on the pulse of what's "good" about Ovation and takes a lot of input form this forum. I'm sure he was in the decision room when things such as new bowl design, new neck attachment, adamas re-issues, focus on acoustic sound, etc. were debated. All marketing guys (me included) get pulled in may opposing directions and for the most part the job is one of managing compromises. I think Rick does a banner job representing the interests of people like us OFC'ers given the constraints that I'm sure the Kaman suits put on him. Just my 0.016 euros worth.

Your response shows that you have a disdain for the corporate world and a lack of understanding of how it works. I've only met Rick a few times, but the people I know inside Ovation have a high regard for him and what he's doing. Please keep your snide (and uninformed) comments to yourself. They're not appreciated.

Stop sitting on the fence with your replies. lightfoot Rick asked me to quote you from the immortal bard (Aaron Tippen)....kiss this paul Enron?Worldcom?Hollinger? A little disdain is a healthy thing when the corporate world opens its mouth. willard It's probably ok to still like him. dry tongue beer's in the mail

So, my question is, what are the "usual" interests of a man who earns his living with his head inserted into other people's ______ (please fill the blank space with your favorite euphamism for rectum)?

The best response for these attention seeking freaks is to IGNORE them BUT the membership rarely listens to me when I politely ask for some cooperation (read MOODY et al) so I can only remind you that if you see a post that is very negative and the person has a low amount of posts and/or they directly attack me just LET IT GO. a certain x member of this board kept registering for numerous screen names. He has problems which I hope he gets addressed. It would make it a better world

Probably woke up on the cynical side of the bed (done it a couple of times myself) . . . But slamming someone here (who HAS been pretty "good" to us) behind their back isn't too cool. Posting a link to a porn site (deceivingly as a homepage) that can get people unwittingly in trouble (at work) is a bit tacky as well . .

Looks like I started something when I looked at his profile. Sorry. P.S. Al, with even more changes coming, you'll have to wait a while for my order. I was going to order a Custom Legend LX as soon as they started using the new contour bowl. Now, I need to see what other changes Rick Hall was talking about for 2006.

Let's try it this way; Rick, speak from your heart as a guitar player that we know you are rather than recycling that marketing babble they program into you as part of your day job. Yes, it's still OK to like him. The Aaron Tippen song is a very good one. Yes I do have a distain for the corporate world but it is because I know exactally how it works. It is like the Hunter Thompson quote about Hubie Hump. The home page is not a pornsite, it was left blank, must have been a rider from the computer I used last time. OK, now back to playing Ovations.
