Location: Valparaiso, FL | Never really thought about acoustic amps until I was walking past the Fender booth at the Crossroads Festival last year and someone was tearing it up through an Acousticsonic. I have a peavey Classic 30 I use for everything, but lately I've been wondering.
Didn't want to run out and spend $500 w/o consulting the Wizards of "O's" on what ya'll use.

Location: Midland, MI | I have a Peavey Bandit 112 (now with TransTube!) and an old, old Peavey Centurion Mk.III head (mated to a 15" EV in a custom enclosure). Neither of which are appropriate for the Elite. I must say, though, that the Uke, through the dirty channel of the Bandit, was quite an eye opener.
I played the Elite through an SWR Strawberry Blonde, the Acoustasonic Jr. (pre-DSP model) and a Carvin (or maybe it was Crate?) something or other when I bought it (the Elite). They all sounded great and I'd be happy with any one of them. For a while, I was on a quest to find a Trace-Elliot or a Genz-Benz locally, but it never happened and I just don't feel the need to play the O plugged in. |

I just purchased a Crate CA-15 Cimarron for $150. They also make a CA-30 for about $250.
The Fender Acoustsonic DSP which will run about $395. The Roland AC-60 is also an excellent Amp but runs about $495.
I couldn't see that much difference in the sound for the extra $$$. The more expensive models have more bells & whistles.
I needed something fairly light and portable
when I go to local nursing homes.
You should figure out your needs and how much you are willing to spend. Go to your local music store and try several side by side with the same guitar, preferrably one similar to what you are going to use. hope I've been some help. Others will probably have some helpful comments. That is one of the great things about this site, a lot of knowledge & experience. Just don't take all the comments seriously. |

Location: WV | Mostly I use a Crate DXB112.It is all digital with 16 tube amp simulations and 16 effects some are combo's. I don't think I have ever made it through all the combinations. 12" speaker and 30 watts. Very nice amp. I use the acoustic setting with a little reverb with my CC057 and it just kills! I use this amp with a variety of guitars from acoustic to electric and it is definately worth the money. Many, many features. I also have an older Peavy Backstage 50 that I use for shredding and that old hard rock sound. I too thought that a dedicated acoustic amp was the way to go until I stumbled across the Crate. I guess for pure recording sound an acoustic amp is the way to go but Nashville isn't beating a path to my door :) Oh well, their loss :) Hope this was some help.

Location: RI. That small State out East | Try out some of the small PA systemns... I think they get looked over and have "everything" your looking for.
I'm happy with a Profile System One by Kustom.
The size and portability... I put it up on stands and it splits the sound... For the $300 / $400
IMHO nothing better.

Location: closely held secret | I use the Marshall AS50R. Great little 2 channel acoustic amp, channel 1 designed for acoustic guitar input, channel 2 has 1/4, XLR and line in's. Send/Insert, Line out and DI out on the back.
O's sound excellent through it.

Location: Anchorage, Alaska | Try a Genz Benz. Serge (Country Artist) told me about them some time ago. I tried them along side several overs and it was a "hands down" choice for me. Genz Benz amps are also a Kaman company. The best pairing of amp and "O" I have found. |

| Bought a Peavey 112 ecoustic amp. Have not compared it to every other amp out there all I know is it makes my Ovations sound fantastic! 100w and the effects are great. Vocal channel is a real nice feature as well. It is a bit pricey though You'll find them for around $535 - $575
Hey! I did not know Genz was part of the Kaman empire? Nice I am waffleing on a Marshall or a Genz Benz for my electric Guitar Amp?
They both are great pieces of equipment.

I have played all of my guitars through it, even my Godin electric.
Not good for electric.
Very good for Ovation/Applause
My other acoustics (non-ovation) have aftermarket pickups.
1-Fishman Rare Earth II Humbucker.
1-Seymour Duncan Acoustic Tube.
Could be the pickups, or the pickup guitar combinations, but no other combination comes close to the Ovation/Applause thru the 112.
It seems that Ovations sound good thru almost anything, even electric guitar amps, since several people are using them with success.
I have said it before. I believe an acoustic guitar amp basically is a small PA system.
Voice channel on the 112 is also very good for vocals and it has a 1/4" in for guitar also.
I have used my 112 with 2 acoustic guitars plugged for practice and that worked well. |

Does anyone make a stereo PA system (like the Profile, Fender Passport, etc?) or are they all mono? I'd like to be able to cable up my Motif8 (synth), which would like to be stereo (a lot of the patches just don't do it for me in mono). Thought, suggestions, opinions? |

When playing at Church or Convalescent Homes, I use my Kustom Profile One.... very nice... just don't "overdrive" the signal or you get a little "squackiness".. other than that, it's great, portable, handles instruments, mics and CDs/tape players and powerful enough for medium large rooms. |

I've had the Adamas, now the EliteLX. Took my daughter to her guitar lessons this week. While I was there, I hooked my EliteLX to the Acoustasonic Jr and a Marshall (dont remember the number). MAN! What a sound. Decided to buy an amp. Just got the ShenJr. off ebay. |

My son gave me a Suzuki 100 watt acoustic amp with stereo inputs for keyboards, guitar, mics, CD player, and a good reverb. It is very clean and being solid state, won't distort no matter how high you turn up the volume. When you plug in a simulator like a ZOOM 505II, it puts out distortion that shakes your socks, great amp, but I've never seen another one anywhere.
