An Ovation would be good for their souls. They currently play a Taylor and a Martin.

My specialty is keyboards but I've had to learn guitar for obvious reasons (a piano is kind of heavy to take to the beach). I'm proud to say that a good number of my members play Ovations. The Celebrity guitars count, right?

Since we are Catholic, we are somewhat perceived as too far outside the mainstream by many and are not asked to play music for our regularly scheduled masses. This is a good thing, however, since we are more than busy enough providing P&W for our regularly scheduled prayer group meetings and are also asked to play quite often for conferences and retreats outside of our church. We do continue to step by step gain acceptance and look forward to the day when the rest of the parish, and the church, catches up to us. I play straight man acoustic guitar for the more talented musicians in our group, however they do let me lead most of the singing. We are trying to increase our number of Worship leaders, so there are 4 of us currently being developed in this role, myself and 3 ladies.

Our other guitarist plays either a Les Paul or a Legend. No Martins, or Taylors. Just O's up front.:-) I just thought of something. A number of years ago I played bass in a band and owned a Martin. I wouldn't have played guitar for anything. I was loving the bass. Since I switched to bass now, and I own an Ovation, I really miss playing guitar. Hmmm. Bill Denver, PA
