Brian May, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, and Jeff Beck were all guests at a Buckingham Palace party to honor the British music industry.
"It's great to meet her and it doesn't matter at all that she did not know who we are or what we do," Clapton said. "I wouldn't expect her to."
I am not sure whether or not I like it that the Queen doesn't know these guys. Maybe it's a good thing. |

the queens views are almost always dismissed so i wouldn't worry. she isn't exactlty the most popular person in england anymore,
frankly i can't stand the queen and despise all that the royal family stand for. this world should be equal and they represent a pyramid of facism. please feel more than free to totally slate the monarchy of my country!!!!
well now i've got that out of my system i've just time to say how much i admire jimmy pages amazing playing. but since i've heard Zep's songs backwards i can't listen to them without freaking out!

Location: hatzic lake, bc, canada. | Hey guy's just so you know another Englishmans opinion.The opinion that bluebuddha holds is not as widely held as he might have you believe.As an Englishman there are not that many things to feel proud of nowadays[clueless morons that invite the world to slate my Queen being one of them].His opinion may have had some validity had he just kept it to certain members of Royalty,but the Queen is held in high regard by millions of people around the world.Just had to get that out of MY system. |

Location: SE Michigan | just to let you know, as an American I think Queen Elizibeth is very respectable and dignified. A lot more so than G.W.Bush anyway. It must be a tough job she has. Like I alluded at the top of this topic, I think it is appropriate she doesnt know these guys.
BUT, that being said, why is she Knighting guys like Elton John, Paul McCartney, and Mic Jagger? I can maybe see a respectable side to Paul McCartney, but Jagger? Come on! Don't you have to slay dragons or risk you life or do something of uncommon valor to be Knighted? Maybe I dont understand the whole concept.
I think if I were a Knighted British war hero and the Queen Knighted an moral miscreant like Jagger, I'd give my title back. |

Location: England | don't worry. alot of respected public figures turn down their oppourtunity to get knighted probably out of respect for those who truely earned theirs. all the dragons have been slayed now. we all live in castles and drink tea with the vicar :p
theres a few friendly dragons and they're kept as pets by alan titchmarsh and Tom Jones. he was recently spotted knighting his dragon too |
