Acts 17:28-30 ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’ “Therefore since we are God's offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone –an image made by man's design and skill. In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.

That abstract painting of John Lennon...you know the one I mean..glasses, sort of looked like it was done with chalks or maybe watercolors A treble cleff as Bentman observed (the power of suggestion at work?) A turtle (rotate it 90deg clockwise) Mount Fuji with the sun coming up (or going down) to the left (rotate it 90deg counter-clockwise) The last, poorly wrapped bean burrito (no red sauce) that I had from Taco Hell..er, Bell. The human mind is very adept at 'recognizing' patterns. Even when there is no pattern to recognize. And lastly, I find it entertaining that the high bidder is 'Golden Palace Casino,' an online gambling emporium (and one of the biggest). Does anyone else find it ironic that a gambling concern would purchase a 'religious relic?' (not that I think it is a religious relic)

What's the other one I heard of, jesus face on a piece of burned toast? people are so desperate to believe in something, anything, that they see all kinds of illusions. The only miracle here is that someone would be stupid enough to pay 10 ger for a freaking pretzel. You want to do some good in this world? How about spending time with your children and teach them right from wrong. Stop beating your wife. Stop hating people because they look different then you do.

I'd sure like to see a follow-up after she gets her money. I'm off today and have the real desire to do some baking. If you don't stand for something you'll fall for anything.

One morning as I was walking to my garage, I saw it, a glorious organic obelisk thrusting upward towards the sky.... It seems my dog Barney, while relieving himself, had deposited a perfect 6-inch turd that landed precisely on-end, there it stood nobly, plumb and true, frozen in the morning frost, reaching up towards the dawn sun, casting a long westward shadow, a true icon of the randomness of nature. Sadly the heat of the day later claimed it, and it collapsed back to mother earth, but I am forever awed and changed. Anything is now possible.

I will pray my thanks for the beauty around me. I will try hard not to focus on gay lion tamers, butchered Pop idols or their overexposed sick-as-mine family members. If I go through the grocery check out line I will not look to the left or right to see who is sleeping with who, large women in bikinis or what the cats on Europa might look like. But I might pick up a bag of pretzels. It looked tasty!

And I will only stop beating my wife when she improves her forehand. I find it difficult to belive that the Good Lord would turn up in anything as unhealthy as a pretzel.

THAT woulda' been SOMETHING!! I once found a potato chip that was perfectly shaped like the Virgin Mary. It was delicious. I'm off now to scrounge up a plastic squeeze bottle and some pretzel batter . . . . I figure in about a week and a half I should be able to manage a perfect rendition of Jesus playing a SlotHead . . . . . . that custom-made USA doubleneck may be possible after all . . . .

I agree, this was, is, will continue to be a scam. I would not be surprised if these folks "find" another "miraculous sign". It makes perfect sense for a casino to buy it, because this sort of thing is all about superstition, not spirituallity. Gamblers are among the most superstitious people on earth and this will draw them by droves. By the way, I think it looks like my daughter-in-law and my grandson. I know what they look like, no one knows what Mary, Jesus, Moses or any other bible person looked like. Silliness gone to seed.
