It's in there for a neck reset and some fretwork. Right now I'm 98% sure I'm going to leave it original. Mr. Keller suggested the the thinline pick-up and air volume taken up by the pre-amp can change the acoustic sound although I might very well not be able to tell. If I ever decide to play out with it, I can just mic it. I gave it a workout before sending it away. That thing is a cannon!

My 1972 doesn't sound quite as smooth when strummed hard as my 1968 Deluxe Balladeer, but it's got a great sound when fingerpicked. Much better than my 1978 Legend (with it's VT bracing). I bought mine on the bay for $300. A total bargin.

It was sposed to be the workhorse model, all professional features with no extra frills. The parallel to be drawn is to the D-28. Today's bottom of the food chain is a beginners guitar from some foreign place. The old Balladeers are now just about middle of the line-up.

Tell you what, I'll give you 100 bucks for yours and you can it put toward something really worth having.

And further, we egotistical type americans, like to think of our neighbors to the North as just a bit naive. ...and who says a Canadian can't live in Ohio, anyway? I'm sure some come over for the gun ownership thing.
