It's kind of dark and brown like raw liver, but is actually not too bad tasting. I didn't know what it was until after I ate it, which was probably a good thing. Roasted Llama? No, I think Cliff was talking about Rosalana. She used to be my house keeper, and a damn good one at that. Dave

Pressed Guinea Hen (clarification): On one trip up the Mountain to Bill's house, I was involved in a stand-off with a huge flock of Guinea Hens that belong to one of his neighbors. They came running down the slope, into the middle of the road and REFUSED to move! After about a minute of crawling at a snail's pace in first gear and tapping on the horn, they dispersed . . . save one. This guy was adamant that he was NOT gonna MOVE!! Now, . . . Guinea Hens are NOT that tall, but this guy stretched himself (and his neck) to be as tall as he possibly could so that he could defiantly "stare me down" over the grille of my car. PT Cruisers have a cowl that makes the front quite low to the ground. When I heard him scrape underneath, I stopped and laid on the horn. He flapped around in the wheelwell for a couple seconds and then lept out on the driver's side, giving me a look of TOTAL disdain before skulking off into the woods. Came close to becoming an appetizer . . . :D

This is WAAAAAAAAY off topic but last year while diving a nearby quarry, I encountered a catfish nest, and mom (or pop) catfish on the side of a sandbar. Large catfish can actually get pretty aggressive and when an 8-10lb fish starts attacking your face you know it. Well I smacked it away and got on the sandbar and stood up. Well just as I stood up, another diver passed close behind me and his fin touched the back of my leg. I levitated out of the water at that point, of course laughing at the same time. Now last weekend, back at same quarry. I notice I'm near the same sandbar (actually it's the old road that is now submerged) and think to myself "self.... I wonder if that 'ol catfish is still here". I look down.... into the MOUTH of that (or probably another) damn tick'd off catfish. I've been eating seafood all week. Back on topic... I hope they set up a tent, table and chairs or something outside for lunch at the Factory. That would be cool, especially if it rains as can happen that time of year. The view of the brook, stream or whatever it is, it quite nice. Dinner and Jam session is being planned at a nearby ski lodge. Nothing in stone yet, but that's the plan as I understand it.

We're sitting around having this meal at this low table that you kind of kneel under (by the way, to understand this story you have to also know that we had been drinking massive amounts of saporro beer). Anyway, very formal polite japanese business style we're eating this meal and when I found out the dark meat was raw horse I started very quietly humming the theme song to "Mr. Ed" - "A horse is a horse of course of course..." Anyway, these japanese guys have NO idea what the hell I'm doing and maybe they just think that's how americans saw "thank you" for a nice meal. But my american friend is absolutely splitting a gut trying not to laugh. He's in complete pain as I just keep humming away "A horse is a horse of course of course ...". he finally just loses it and literally pisses his pants. I mean, actually pissing in his 3 piece suit. He could not stop to save his life. I didn't know until later when he told me that once he started peeing he tried to minimize the damage by actually pulling it out and just pissing on the floor under the table. One of the truely funniest night of my life. DaveI've heard of that, Dave. Not being a red-meat eater, I've never TRIED it, but've heard of it . . . Anything like Kobe beef??

They also served us a cooked horse steak, medium rare and it was quite good but the taste stayed with me for 3 days. Never again. It also did require massive amounts of saki. The tent in the back yard is a great idea as is the ski lodge, I assume it's Ski Sundown which is right behind the factory. The guinea hens were Sam Waterson's and they do get pressed on a regular basis.

She's a BIG "Law & Order" fan, and TNT plays like 3 or 4 episodes every evening back-to-back. I usually get home from work late every evening, and every time I come home, it's on. One night (right before we came up) I came home and said "Why IS it that every time I come home I gotta look at Sam F*&%$%g WATERSON!! We just both thought it'd be somewhat ironic if I ended up killing one and had HIM sitting in a courtroom staring me down . . .

I'll bring a few burlap sacks with me and look for bar-be-que fixings on the road between New Haven and New Hartford. Mebbe it would be wise to also bring a bottle of Patron Anejo.
