That's Elderly Instruments, not Elderly Country Artists. Serge is not for sale.

And now I've got one. :D

Can anybody tell me if the Celebrity CC059 is a usable alternative to the Country Artist? Usually Celebrity Mandolins & Guitars @#$%&* in my opinion. Please help or I'm ordering one tomorrow. Thanks.

I used to have an 1124 but traded it for a Balladeer, Big mistake. I now have a CC059 which is a good instrument for the price. Not as good as the USA Ovations acoustically but plugged in I'll run with it. MWoody sold one on ebay recently and good 1624's come up from time to time. Be patient and be prepared to spend $400- $500

The only thing Orthopod Tech has that's elderly is me.

I was going to say that,Dad, but thought you fit more into the category of "Southern Gospel Artist", and I don't think they make that model yet.....

I owned 1624 and 6773 and to me the 6773 is superior in almost every way (if you like indian blankets). No seriously, the 6773 is a great instrument. Dave

"(if you like indian blankets). "
:D

My, My . . . I make just ONE disparraging remark about a particular model YEARS ago, and it's "branded" for life . . . . :-)

How "impressionable" young Master Witko is! . . . .

Cliff, give yourself some credit here. Your coining of the 6773's most beautiful feature was pure magic and it's a phrase that will stay with me forever. Yes, I am impressionable when placed in the presence of brilliance. Dave

No offense intended to our indigenous brethren or their craftsmanship, Tex . . . .

A couple years ago, Master Witko featured a picture of one of these guitars in a post . . .
While I realize that these are EXCELLENT intruments, I really DON'T like the rosette pattern and I likened it to ". . an Indian blanket being flushed down a toilet . . ."

Evidently, it "stuck" with Dave . . .

It's not a model that generally "gluts" the market.People aren't always ready to willingly give 'em up.
They do come around periodically, but it requires a degree of patience and dilligence. . . .
Personally, I'd wait and hold outfor a USA model . . . but that's just me.

Or do what I did and get a 1763 to tide you over until you find the Country Artist you want. The 1763 is a classical with a cutaway. A very good guitar. It's got a slightly wider neck, a deeper body, and 12 frets to the body, but it's a fine instrument.

Of course, here's a CA in the UK on ebay

If you want the current generation model 6773, I'll sell you mine for $1250. + shipping, including hardshell case. Photos are on my website.

Mine is upgraded from the standard model. It has gloss finish headstock and enclosed gold schaller tuners. Stock model is matte finish headstock and chrome open gear tuners. Email me if you are interested.

So can I assume from all your input that the CC059 is a dog? Please remember I am a professional. I require smooth frets, no neck buzz, etc. On paper the CC059 looks great. But as they say I've never played a Celebrity that I "did" like. I have to order the piece and I must accept it so I'm counting on you guys for guidance. And sorry Stanging Ovation and no malice meant but you're asking for more than I can get a brand new one for. Peace brothers.
