Played my acoustic yesterday, and now this morning my fingers are sore. They never got sore from my electrics. Is this normal or is it just a rite of passage?

I found reasonable explanation for this, the strings are heavier on an acoustic, therefore it takes more pressure to get them to the frets.

I guess I'll just have to toughen up. :)

Play 'til your fingers are bloody, then go soak them in ice water until they're numb, then go back and play some more!

The other night I watched the Denzel Washington movie "Man on Fire" . . . . there's a great scene involving fingers and a car cigarette lighter that you might find "inspirational" . . . .

Maybe you should lay-off the grilled cheese

...and eats your spinach

real men play acoustic...so cancel your weekly manicure appointment and put medium gages on that puppy

oh, and...I have the opposite syndrom. I just started playing electric and bend the strings right off the fretboard, over the binding and I fret chords so hard they are out of tune...

Had a chance to toss the Old Frisbee around last week. I have the prerequisite Frisbee Callus forming on the inside of my middle finger now.

It is a badge and a reminder that Summer is at hand!

When my partner's fingers get sore, he sticks them in his beer. I've told him that this is alcohol abuse as surely as spilling a beer on a floor here you can't lick it up, but he swears it helps with the soreness.

h-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m-m . . . . .

After playing for three hours, the LAST thing I'll wanna do is to get my fingertips wet . . . .
. . . I don't even usually wash my hands exceedingly thoroughly . . . . as wet fingertips tend to soften and become tender . . . making that fourth hour just that much more uncomfortable.

I usually find that a liberal dosage of Patron' Tequila (taken internally) provides the right amount of analgesic relief to allow me to "Bin & Grear It" through the rest of the night . . .

. . . if you've ever seen the clientele of some of the venues we play . . . that's fine with me.

I actually looked up the directions on mapquest after I was looking at the TwoManGroup site, but
11 hours, even in a convertible, is a bit of a stretch, maybe if it were only 5 or 6, I'll just have to wait for the Video version to come out.
don't bother washing for me.

shawn;

Whilst I appreciate the sentiment, TwoManGroup isn't worth a 5 or 6 MINUTE drive . . . let alone hours . . . y'ain't missin' much . . . :)

I've driven 90 miles to hear Rev Horton Heat, and those venues weren't exactly pristine. part of the trip is the journey.
