I picture the jams as virtuosity on the half shell. What if all the fella had was a cheaper model? Would he feel out of place? I ask this (1) because I am pretty sure the answer to all the above is NO, and (2) - not that it's what's kept me away - but I am darn sure that in O-Knowledge and skill I'd be in the shadow of giants. Someone now dispell the giant myth. Jas

I am sure that they are many members who can put me to shame in the playing department but do I care? Not really because based on the comments of many members over the last year or so, I have come to realize that good players love to play with other players....regardless of skill level and usually take great pride in sharing the knowledge. The main reason I would have liked to have gone on the tour was mainly for the jam sessions. I know that there are some monster players that I could have stolen a few licks off of :D and improved my own playing skills in the process!

I will stay away from the Internet and emailing anyone from home until I can obtain a non-Pirated version of Win XP. I'm too cheap for a good PC and I'm too cheap to go 3650 miles for the time of my life. I'm cheap!

Joined: May 2004 Posts: 2850 Location: Midland, MI | How about this one: Boss lady said the trip was a 'bad choice' what with it being Father's Day and a couple of other semi-important things going on this weekend. This morning, I showed her and our youngest son the pictures of the llamas, explained how the story got started here and she said (and I quote!), 'Man, *you* would have loved that. Why didn't you go? You could've gone out and been back by Sunday morning.' Years ago when I used to hang out on alt.sysadmin.recovery, the saying was, 'Down, not across.' Comment approprié? I love her to death, though (although we did recently discover that our marriage certificate has her name wrong and neither of us ever signed it...any lawyers here? Oh, and Littleman (youngest son) absolutely loved the picture of Al with the llamas. I explained that I had done business with Al and Littleman's response was, 'Why did you buy a guitar from the black llama?' Honest! Out of the mouths of babes. (well, 2.75 year olds anyway) So, that's why I didn't go, and...

I'd have had a to get a taxi to the IOM airport, flight from the IOM, to (prob) London Gatwick, coach from Gatwick to London Heathrow, plane to no idea where in the US, internal flight from "no idea where" to somewhere in CT, more coaches/taxi's... all for one evening out. To get back on thread it would be because some b"""""d put an ocean in the way. Guess I'll keep buying those lottery tickets. It could be me. Yeah, right! Hope that everyone there had a fab time, and that those who weren't there (like me) didn't miss it too much (not like me)... JB (that has to be my longest post ever in a forum...)

My full hand would be, 1 ocean, 1 wife, 2 kids, the weekend of my wedding anniversary and Father's Day. I presume you are now folding your hand? BTW, if you can make it to Gatwick next year, I'll give you a lift to Heathrow. Actually you used to be able to fly to Trenton from Gatwick - we could just thumb it round to cliff or al and get a ride from there. Better still, I've got al's bank account number - we could just charge it all. :D

BTW - the Irish sea became an ocean last week, when the Ferry Driver managed to drive into Liverpool Dockside, and put the ferry service out of action for 2 days until they could get a replacement... I presume you are now folding your hand? Thanks for the offer of lifts. I'll start saving for next year, then! :D I do like your idea of charging it, possibly in the name of Anglo/US relations?
