This time I was just searching and came on this 1537 with in 10 minutes of it being listed. I have a moderate bid and won't really pursue if it gets near/above what stephent28 paid for his last 1537. It looks nice though. As a side note. I picked up my 1537 from the ovation factory after it went in for a little TLC. (neck reset, clean out elmers glue from under fretboard, clean up residual elmers glue on wood top) Best 2 bills I ever spent. My 1537 looks almost brand new. plays like brand new. I'm loving it so much, it made me bid on the ebay 1537. But there is a Hamer with my name on it and c'est la vie. good luck to 1537 bidders...peace mike

Something doesn't look quite right to me...just can't put my finger on it. I don't understand why he did not list the model number in his ad. He is certainly knowledgable enough since he has sold a ton of guitars for decent money.

That sure looked perty but I saw you bid on it so I stayed away. Something about THAT particular one gave me major GAS ;) !

Since I have not had the pleasure of seeing one of these in person, the top in this auction: Angel Step 1 is quite different than the top in this auction: Angel Step 2 .Is it just a case of pro lighting in the first auction or did they really differ that much from one to the other? They both are sweet regardless, and now all I have to do is convince the wife of that too! :p

It is comfortable to play since it is a shallow bowl. It has a slightly V neck shape, say a little more V shaped then the 2005 collectors. but the neck is comfortable to play for hours. the top also looks 3-d from different angles. laminate or not, this particular guitar rocks. Seems like all of mikes (MSB here, mbros on ebay) guitars are sweet. last two things, my friend who is picky, picky, picky... played it at my house, and wouldn't let it go. it's now at her house (friends  ). So sleepy , thankyou for letting me win such a cool guitar at a decent price. I hope your good karma comes back to you in multiples. peace mike

Check out the 12 string I just recently sold (pic is in the for sale section or look in my OFC gallery under 12-string acoustics) The one on ebay now seems to be a darker more somber look than mine or the one Fugot grabbed. I agree with Fugot. It is a great sounding and playing guitar. I parted with my 12 string only because it was necessary to fullfil my desire for a 1688 Adamas I twelve string.

Could be that this one has had the fretboard/neck replaced or... could be it never had fret markers...which could mean.... EDIT: Ask, if it has a roundhead screw at the waist and Stereo jack.

I still bet that there will be alot of last minute action on this one, if the current bid stays where it's at. I got to admit, I might be one of them. Still, some self control on my part would be nice. Joe

Joined: January 2005 Posts: 640 Location: boulder | He emailed me back also. He says it is the original neck and it does ahve fret inlays. I didn't ask if finish crack was visible or if the line if the picture was a wood coloration thin. Top looks similarly well golden aged as my other 1537 looks. (and similar to other 1537 pics I have seen). If I win it for less then my "clever" bid, I am happy for me. If somone else wins it I am happy for them. My 1537 just back from factory really cleaned up nicely and looks the bomb. peace mike

I'm still under my wife's moratorium and we just got the bill for my daughter's first semester at University of Portland, so things are pretty grim around the house. Of course, in the fall it will be something else.
