Location: Omaha | Saturday night I was pleased (and pleasantly surprised) to see that Pat Metheny was going to be on Austin City Limits (okay - I'm old; they get some pretty wei-- I mean, diverse, acts on there sometimes...).
Anyway, behind keyboardist Lyle Mays I would occasionally get a glimpse of an Ovation (slothead) headstock.
Kept waiting for Metheny to pick it up, when finally, in the last song, Lyle Mays played it for part of the intro to the song, then switched back over to keyboards! I thought it was a nylon string, but could never quite tell from the shots I saw of him playing it...
...anyone else ID it? |

| Into the nineties before he found Linda Manzer, Pat regularly played an Ovation classical on stage. Maybe he doesn't trust Lyle with one of his $20,000 customs!
Didn't see the programme - reception's lousy 7ooo miles away. :( |

Britain had a rate of 6.1 deaths. A more telling statistic -- “deaths per 100 million miles traveled” – is 1.51 in the USA vs. 1.2 in Britain – a mere 25% variation. |

And yes, Sleepy Bones, I am old enough to remember the Armadillo. Was in high school in San Antonio during its heyday, so I only went there once, to see Tracy Nelson. At one point, she mentioned that she and Willie Nelson were often asked whether they were related. Willie's reply: "Yes, we're the bastard children of Ozzie and Harriet." heeheehee ... oh, wait, I forgot who I am ... ohhh,oww,uhhuh,y'know.
