If you plug it in, especially if you use the XLR cable, you won't be disappointed. You can turn the amp up as loud as you want.

It sounds great, but I don't perform. Although it doesn't have the notch filter the optima had, I've never heard anyone complain of feedback. I'm sure someone will comment too.

I have a 6778LX (which I'm currently atempting to destroy by drilling holes in the side...but that's another story) with Op Pro. My past guitars had the Optima. I noticed less power output from the OpPro, but assumed it was due to running a 1/4" cable instead of an XLR. So I opted to send it to the Mother Ship and have them add the XLR feature. I like the way the controls feel on the OpPro...more user-friendly maybe. Larger volume control is nice. I keep wishing it had a notch filter, but I've had no feedback problems with this guitar so I guess I don't need one. Optima had a notch but I needed it ALL the time to fight feedback. John <>{

If you get the LX, you get the OP-pro which has the XLR out.

Actually I'm not realy satisfied about the OP-pro on my 1778T..It's the output..I'm very curious about the newcoming OP-studio-pro (2006?).I intend to change my OP-pro into a Studio-pro, if that 'll be possible

ttenn: All the LX guitars come with the OpPro, but not all of them have XLR capability. The preamp is set up for it, but the Xtra stuff isn't in the guitar. If you don't have XLR...just turn up the volume a little.

Purple flame...we were told on the tour that the Studio will have more power than the OpPro to address this objection and, yes, it will drop right into the OpPro can

I love it. It is weaker than others, just turn it up more. I run mine just a hair over 3/4 up. So I still have room to go up if I need to. But it does seem sensative to the volume setting the more you go over 3/4. More than the lower settings. A litle movement makes a big difference in volume. But I would not hesitate buying another guitar with one. In fact I am thinking of getting an Elite LX. Just deciding if I should get a MF credit card to do it.

Well, that's good news, Bauerhillboy. Thanks! But does that mean that all you have to do is simply switch from OpPro to Studio, without any adjustment on your guitar? That would be great! All I have to do is waiting for the Studio...no big deal. And when will the Studio exactly be available?

When is the studio version coming out? I'm not pleased overall with my OP Pro, and was planning to replace it very soon. Yes, it works fine, I just prefer the 4 band eq and notch filter on the op50. I'd like more info on the Op Studio Pro if anyone has it...features etc. I didn't hear anything mentioned about this at the tour...

I did hear them mention a new pickup system that would be coming out, but they said it would not work with the current systems. Obviously, it must be something different than the OP Studio Pro.

I believe I caught Rick talking about it on the DVD.

Available soon in the OFC Store.

Oh, sorry, Johnny - I meant he talked about the OP Pro Studio, not the new p/u system.

He said it would be hotter than the OP Pro, would be a drop-in replacement/upgrade and had something "behind the black curtain" he couldn't tell us yet.

He was playing it close to the vest. All I remember him saying was it would swap with the OpPro, it would be louder and there was "another feature he couldn't talk about."

I believe they have the capability. Some just do not have the cable and plug installed.

And it's possible that not all were shipped with the can
which has the jack
which connects to the wiring harness
which goes to the dual-input board
which has the 1/4"-XLR jacks
which mounts on the guitar that Ovation built.

I'm happy to hear that the new preamp will be a drop in replacement because I'm not thrilled with the OP-Pro on my 12 string. It works fine for my 6 string, but not great on the 12. I'm really hoping that the new preamp has a notch filter. I feel like I have to back off on the bass too much when using my 12 string because of the bottom E strings wanting to feed back a little. This is something that I was easily able to dial out with my OP-40.

I tried a guitar (05 Collectors) just once with the OP Pro. Using the 1/4" jack, it was nothing to write home about, but using the XLR jack, it delivered major power (signal) to the board -- more so than Big Blue with an OP24.
