My 1680 was sent last week from the Mothership to the shop in S Texas, they sent it on to my family in Boston. It was looking likely to arrive after they left for England :-( It's been on a 4000 mile round trip whereas Mothership to family is about 90 miles!!! Anyhow I got free delivery so I'm not too bothered. The FEDEX site says it will be delivered today, in time for them to bring over (another 3000 mile trip). Boy it's not even going to get a rest when it gets here. It's going to be played, and played hard. I can't wait! Still I'm going to visit my family next year and now I know that the Mothership is so close to then will pay it a visit, so be warned!

I have a 97C at the Mothership that needs a new top, been wondering whether I should do it or not or what exactly. As I'm going to be over there I might actually get them to give some KOA action (possibly even a equaleted KOA top!). HEHEH

British Airways flight crew named it "the baby" and the name shall probably stick. So pics of the baby to follow, have to go and restring and reshim it but I can see what all the fuss is about, this is not your average wood top.

I think he's just too enamored with it to get on the computer. :D I was telling him, I noticed they moved the label to the center of the bowl so it's not under the soundholes, (which is good) and there is no rear hatch, so that might contribute to the great sound. I didn't even notice that with Keith's. I was just happy listening to him play it.

"Please refer the configuration insert that came with your guitar to see the mics and guitars used to create the images in your guitar." But the manual that comes with the 1680 says the same! ARGH!

Blows away any other guitar I've ever played. 2. The nut width/height is quite different from my Ovations. My fingers aren't used to it and so either I'll need to adjust it (basically lower it slightly) or adjust myself! 3. The neck, oooh, the neck! Walnut and ebony, god bless you Ovation!

I agree, I've pulled the shims and did a slight neck adjustment, but I think the nut could use a very little bit of tweaking. 3.Amen to that, the neck is soooo beautiful. BTW, ya need to change your sig, no longer on Santa's sleigh.....

When Brian & I practice, and I'm playing my UTE and Brian has his 1680, there at times when our two un-amped vocals are in danger of being overwhelmed.

I still have two shims I think, but it still feels quite low with 11's on it. Probably more room to tweak, but good for now.
