The seller of the other limited confirmed that their neck is straight. I would be glad to work something out with you if you want the neck off of the one I just bought.

Joined: August 2005 Posts: 130 | (edit) Enough with the sob story already-I have good news. I took the neck off just to see what was in the pocket. There looks to be a fragment of newsprint (possibly from a hiking map?) stuck in there, along with a barely legible inkstamp under the newsprint. Anyway, the neck isn't warped. What's actually wrong is that the nut was cut badly-there's a slant to the base of the nut, causing the appearance of warpage. Also, the string spacing's off for the same reason-the spacing from slot to slot isn't equal. Finally, some of the frets are lifting out of the board, which wasn't obvious without an extremely close examination. I'm emailing the Mothership tonight and inquiring about a re-finish, re-nut, and re-fret and the costs that come with them. I'll keep you all posted.

Originally posted by Katana6506 August 31, 2005 06:14 PM: Katana, Your Breadwinner Limited is a Soap Opera... I had the guitar at the tech's tonight, and while the warp is irreparable, the intonation issue was not caused by the warp. The neck isn't sitting quite straight in the pocket, causing a slight intonation problem... I caught your Premier Episode on August 17th. The episodes on the OFC have been great. My heart went out to the writer and producer of the episode that aired on the eBay Network. Before you rewrote your (October 19, 2005 05:57 PM) post, it said you were broke and you needed the money. Within minutes, the script was rewritten! The leading man took the guitar apart and re-diagnosed the patient's ailments! The irreparable warped neck is no longer warped! The destitute leading man can now handle a re-finish, re-nut, and re-fret with the Mothership! I love happy endings... ;)

I just wanted to make sure that everything I had said about the guitar before was absolutely correct-hence the neck removal. Still can't afford the work-I just want to know how much it'll cost.
